Jess's P.O.V

Numbness rolled over my body as I lay on the cold floor of the bathroom.

I'm dying.

I tried to stay underwater longer but I was too weak.

At least I'll still die.

My thoughts go to Kaylee again. If I could moved, I would be flinching at the thought of her, and cringing as her image faintly came to mind.

But slowly, the image faded, and so did everything else.

~~

I heard some mumbling as I started regaining consiousness.

Am I dead yet? Please say I'm dead.

Sadly, I woke up completely. I was greeted by a nurse, and that's when I realized I was in a hospital.

I really didn't want to talk to her, or anyone for that matter, I wanted to get out of here.

"Good morning darling! How are you feeling?" She asked. I just shrugged, not making eye contact. She brushed it off as if it was nothing and continued.

"You were very lucky to have survived that!" She exclaimed with bright eyes.

Why was 'luck' on my side when I didn't want it? Where was luck when I got kidnapped? I sighed softly and closed my eyes.

"O-ok, yeah. You, uh, get some rest! I'll check on you later," She said, slightly dissapointed. I shrugged it off as I fell into a deep sleep.

~Dream World~

(3rd person)

There was blood. Everywhere. It coated Jess's hands, clothes, and face. It was on the floor, surrounding her.

She searched and searched for the victim, wanting to call out their name, but now she wasn't just mute, she was physically unable to speak.

She frantically searched in all directions, but only found doors surrounding her. Each door looked the same on the outside, but little did Jess know what she would find inside.

She reached for one of the handles, and slowly opened it. There's stood a ladder, the same one that led up to the attic she was trapped in for so long.

She shut it quickly, trying the door to the right of it, but only to find the same thing. This goes for every door she searched. All the doors led to the ladder.

She wondered if Kaylee went into one of the doors, but Jess couldn't find the courage to go up there.

She tried her voice, but it only made her cough. She coughed and coughed until she stared coughing up blood. She ended up stopping the coughing because she was in shock. Her arms were now coated with fresh blood, as well as her lips.

Jess could taste the bitter taste of metal filling her mouth and lungs. She colapse to the floor, still surrounded by the doors, unable to breathe.

This is the same feeling she felt while drowning. She's drowning in her own blood, while covered in someone elses. She started slipping into unconsciousness once again, but this time, seeing a bright white light instead of black...

~Snap back to reality~ ( ;) )

(Jess's P.O.V)

I jerk awake, breathing quite heavily. I couldn't process what exactly was going on at the moment, but soon calmed down a bit once I realized I was still in the hospital.

I still didn't want to be here, but it was better than... there.

I sighed in frustration, realizing you were restrained to the bed. They must've found out my identity, and had records of my past. Plus, I just tried killing myself. I didn't exactly blame them, but I definitely wasn't estatic.

I laid down, staring at the ceiling for roughly an hour before someone came in.

"Jessica?" A mildly deep voice questioned. I realized I had zoned off, so I wasn't actually looking at him.

I looked at his rusty brown eyes as he came closer.

"Sorry, shall I call you Miss. Faye?" He asked, with an apologetic voice. I must've not looked at him right so he thought I wanted to be called by my 'formal' name.

I shook my head, signalling Jessica was fine. He nodded in response.

"So tell me, Jessica," he started, a bit nervous. "The other nurses have been concerned, you haven't spoken to any of them, and you, uh, haven't had any visitors." He finished, wuickly looking away after that last part.

"Have you become a mute?" He asked, breaking the few moments of silence. I hesitantly nodded at him. He then said,

"Was this really that bad?" He asked in a hushed tone, referring to the kidnapping. I nodded again.

"What about... before? That too?" He asked, a little more confident in his voice.

I sigh and nodded again, turning my head away from him. He scribbled some things down on his clipboard before turning to leave.

"I'll be back later Jessica," he said, "if you're able to, hit that button if anything goes wrong, ok?" He gestured to the red button beside the bed. I nodded, biting my lip and he turned and left.

I sigh in relief as he closes the door. I didn't want to deal with these people and their questions today. Actually, I don't ever want to deal with them.

As I laid there, I looked around the room, trying to think of an escape plan, but all would end up with me either back on the hospital, or meeting another doctor and/or nurse face-to-face.

No thanks.

Right before I drifted off to sleep, another thought came to mind.

If I can open that window, I might die from impact depending on what floor I'm on.

And with that thought in mind, I drifted back to sleep with a smile spreading ear to ear on my face.

Soon I'll be able to make them all happy like they deserve, I'll be gone for good.
