Jess's P.O.V
My breath was shaky and my throat was dry.
I screamed. I did something.
I sat up out of instinct, to gather info on my surroundings.
I sat up!
I gasped in shock. I did, I was moving. But how? I don't even think I want to know at this point.
I go to stand. Though still a bit wobbly, I managed to keep my balance- after falling twice. Make that thrice.
I gather myself off the floor and begin walking around. Nothing has changed here, at least, not that I can see. I pace around, checking all the cabinets and drawers for, well, nothing in particular. Just anything that might be useful for anything.
It was oddly cold up here today. Maybe Lion didn't have the heat on? Or maybe it's the weather outside. What day is it? I haven't kept track since I was up here orriginally. It could possibly be winter, or just an afternoon fall chill.
There was nothing to keep me warm other than the blanket on the bed, but I am not laying there any longer.
After I was sure I had checked absolutely everything at least twice, I plopped down at the small dining table, where I usually sat.
Disgusted by my instinct, I stood up abruptly, knocking my chair over in the process.
Leaving the chair there, I pace around in a circle. I had no intention of staying up there any longer than I needed too. I just needed Lion to open the door.
Surprisingly, almost as if on cue, Lion trotted up into the attic. I quickly rush over and fix the chair, hoping he wouldn't notice.
"K-Kitten?" He spoke quietly, his skin going paler than I've ever seen.
"Hello, Lion," I spoke, not making eye contact.
"You're awake," he pointed out, skin still paling.
"Yes, I've noticed. Have you found Tiger?" I don't know why I spoke so casually, I couldn't care less where she was. Instinct. I curse myself for this.
"I- um well, ah- no. No I haven't," he spoke, lost for words, "but I'm sure she's around. She couldn't have gone far, heh."
I nodded, trying to look reassuring. In reality, I was looking for a way to slip past him and get out that door.
He... left the hatch open? What? Is this a dream? Nah, he's just delusional.
"Do you want some coffee? Or tea?" I asked, trying to get him to move out of my way.
"No, no that's alright," he responded, though he did move to sit down at the table- in his usual spot.
He put his head in his hands and hit it on the table, clearly frusturated.
Now's my chance.

I can already hear you.
Yes I know this was extremely short but that's because the next chapter will be the last.
That's right.
I'm hoping to make it longer that all the other chapters for like a big finale type thing.
Stay tuned because I'm (hoping) to have it up soon.
~See ya!
BY THE WAY-- Please check out my other book, it's called 'Along the Way,' and it's more interesting than it looks I can tell you that. It literally has 1 read and I've had it up since December 23rd of 2016 (atm it's February 24th 2017)
Thanks!
