My alarm rings in my ears as feel myself smack the dusty top of the clock. 7:30. I am officially 16 years old and the 7th anniversary of my parents going missing. Should I be excited that maybe just maybe this year I will find them at my old house waiting for me at the doorway? I had lost the hope years ago and now I know that they will never come back.

Someone quietly knocks on the door, "Come in." I hopelessly say knowing that this special day is just a reminder that my parents will never come back. It's Scott with a smile across his face. Scott is my dad's best friend and secretly a werewolf. I've known him for as long as I could remember and he had took me after my parents well... you know.

"Happy Birthday Allison!", he says in a positive attitude but I know that he knows this day is special another reason. A smile at his caring notice as a get up from under my forest printed sheets. These sheets along with my name and Scott's first love represent a true hero who sacrificed herself to save all of Beacon Hills. This is the only day that Scott ever talks about Allison Argent but when he does I show interest because she is my life long role model.

"I've got a special birthday breakfast for you down stairs for you.", he says with bright attitude.

"It's a microwave casserole again, is it?", he blushes as I say this because he knows it, but he's a very bad cook. I usually cook for the two of us because when I was 7, I learned  I thing or two from mother, Lydia. For some reason, this time I notice a slight assurance in Scott's expression. Did he actually attempt to make a descent, good breakfast meal or is it something else? Scott had always said that I had my  fathers keen eyes and my mothers beauty. I feel a serge of excitement course through me as I rush out my bedroom door, passing Scott, sprinting and stumbling through a hallway full of old memories of Scott's pack. My warm feet glide down the stairs and I notice Derek, Malia, Mason, Jordan, Liam, Hayden, and their daughter and my best friend Ava Dunbar. She's less than a year younger than myself and a werewolf like her parents.

"Happy 16!", they all say with bright smiles upon there faces.

Malia then grabs a plate from off the counter saying, " Unlike Scott's horrible cooking," she  uttered and Scott shoots a glare at her, " I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make a pleasant meal to start off you and Ava's first day of high school." Oh that's right. I totally forgot that today is also my first day of high school. How could be so stupid? She hands me the dish, then hands everyone else a dish. Ava sits next to me at our four person table. I constantly tell Scott that we only need a two person table but he says the same thing over again.

"I am saving those seats for your parents, because your parents are alive and I will find them some day." He's lying because even though his pack spends most of the time looking for them, I know that their ether dead or can't find their way back to us.

"So how'd you do during last night's full moon?" The moment I say this, she forms a grimace face. She ether almost killed herself or someone else. I couldn't even imagine how that must've felt for her. This hadn't been the only time her parents were forced to tie her to a pole in her basement. Ava reaches as if a habit to rub her bruised wrist.

"Didn't go as well as I hoped and I feel that I will never find my anger to control my shift." she says worried for the future.

"Hey, if you can't control it. No one can." I assure towards her. Laughing a little she gets up to put her plate into the piled up sink. Directing my attention towards Scott, I see him talking with his beta, Liam. Liam was about Ava's age when he had joined Scott's pack. He was also talking Derek, who was the one who trained Scott to control his shift when he had first became a werewolf. Ava walks back to her chair and sits down. " Ava could you listen in on what they are saying." she looks confused but understands.

"Sure," she squints her eyes towards the conversation between Scott, Liam, and Derek, "but I am still learning so I can try." There is a long pause as I study the expressions that appear in on her face as she listens in. "There saying something about," she stops in her train of thought, "your parents.", she says with a surprising tone. By this point, I am more than anxious to hear what she has to say next. "There--"

Interrupting Ava, Hayden her mom, puts a hand on her shoulder, "Allison why don't you head upstairs and get ready for school, then you could drive your new car to school."

"Alright." I say disappointed that I couldn't get the rest of the news about my parents out of Ava, I figured that maybe after school I could ask Scott about it. Then, I am put into realization, "New car?"
