A week later.
The moment I walk into AP Chemistry, I feel a whiff of a chilling breeze. I notice goose bumps start to form on my arms as I take my seat in the back of the classroom. I look towards the board and my vision blurs. Blinking a few times, my eyes finally adjust.
"Ok, everyone," Ms. Churman says emotionless towards the class, " I need you to open up page 563, where we will learn about Chemical Equations and Stoichiometry." She continues next with notes and I try to follow along accordingly. But it's not until something she says that catches my attention. " Avodrago's Law. At a constant temperature and pressure, the volume of a gas is directly proportional to the number of moles." Relating to about how much another parallel can be connected to the world but still go unnoticed is impossible. There would have to be a focus it needs to contribute its energy to successfully be stable enough to allow people go through safely. But the breachers are pure negative energy and they would need something positive to be able to do such thing. I instantly raise my hand. "Allison, yes?" Ms. Churman says curiously.
"Well if the number of moles is indirect, could it be possible to still pass through as a constant, reliable temperature and pressure?" I wonder.
"Great question," she points out to the whole class, "No, it cannot. It would need a positive charge and you cannot add something that can't chemically stay there if it just disappears every time it contacts." I sigh as she continues on with the lesson.
The passing bell rings and I leave. When I enter the hallway, Ava approaches me with high heels that make her taller than she actually is. "Hey wanna scrimmage with me a little before the game tonight?" Ava says, her face lighting up. "Scott, Chris, and Noah are coming to watch." She says hoping that I will take her advice and scrimmage with her.
"Sure," I say turning my bummed attitude to a positive one. We walk towards the library because it is our free period, so we meet Drake and Noah there. Noah doesn't play lacrosse, he plays basketball instead. Like his dad.
In the library, we find a lot of students. Freshman, Juniors, Seniors, and fellow sophomore. As we past sociable tables, they smirk at Ava and me, flirting. And Ava being just Ava snaps, "What are you looking at Freshman!" It's not until I feel her about to jump out at them, is that I stop her. I look across the room, to see Drake and Noah waving at us.
I look to Ava and she glares at the students, "Hey, let's go." I turn her away and her angry face softens when she sees Noah. She doesn't have any classes with him and they just started dating this year. Noah had just moved from Mexico with his parents Derek and Braeden Hale. He is American, just raised in a different country, due to his mothers well... job being a mercenary. His parents knew mine and weren't dating till Derek lost his werewolf powers but regained them. When his father, Derek, returned at the beginning of the school year, at a pack meeting Noah met Ava. She soon found he was a werewolf too and that they had to feel for one another. They started dating literally a few days later. There a cute couple and I have no problem admitting that. Noah's family is now a part of the pack and I like that he's a really nice guy.
"Hey Drake," I say walking to towards him and I give him a peck on the cheek, "ready for tonight's game?" Ava goes and sits across to Noah at our table and I sit next to Noah, across from Drake. Noah has his basketball jersey and is number 31, and red and white. Just like his dad's. He has a fringe of dark black hair and a native skin color. Totally the opposite of Ava with here pale skin and medium ash blonde hair. Her hair has gotten greatly darker since the beginning of freshman year like how it happened when her father was in high school.
"Sort of," Drake says forming a frown, "it's going to be different with my dad not being able to come." I feel a selfish feeling fall over me, but I choose to ignore it. Immediately, I reach across the table to hold his hand. I have no words but my action says millions. He grins as he stares vigorously into my eyes. I blush, turning away.
"Well, boys, " Ava humorously says and gets from her chair, grabbing her dark navy blue and polka dotted backpack from her seat, "Allison and I are going to practice for the game tonight against Devenford."
"Hey Drake," Noah says as he bro-punches Drake in the shoulder, "isn't that your dad's old high school."
"Yeah," Drake sighs. Ava and I walk away and out of the library. We pass the freshman and they make faces at Ava and she does so back.
Once we leave through the double doors and reach a hallway full of passing students. She asks while raising an eyebrow, "What's up with Drake?"
"He just, well. Parent issues." I say hoping that she won't ask for a better explanation because I know it's not my business to tell her anymore. She slightly nods a frown understanding the obvious clue I am giving her.
"Well, aren't our lives totally perfect," she chuckles sacastically. I swing my arm around her shoulders to pat the other side. She's shorter than me by 5 inches by she never shows a care. She tough and that's all that matters to her. Walking side by side, we leave through the school administration doors, with a smile on our faces.
