The next morning, I go to school for real. Stiles finds me a loophole to get in some of their classes. They figured that if Ava and I are going to be stuck here. We'd better start a life. For some reason, I had qualified to get in the Senior AP Biology class with Kira, Scott, and Lydia, who's in the hospital currently.

Entering the classroom, the teacher introduces me to the class. You would think that they would recognize a freshman when they see one but due being tall and mature, unlike Ava. I'd make a pretty good senior.

"Everyone, listen up." she says trying to get her classes attention with me by her side, "This is Allison and she is new, so make her feel welcome."

Then she gestures me to my seat next to, Theo. Great.

The teacher's lesson begins quickly as I pull out a sheet of paper to take notes. "If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is the same as other humans, what could account for the missing 0.1% difference?" she questions to the class. It's quite and I don't waste a second to raise my hand.   "Allison?" she says to a surprise.

"Um, nucleotides,"  I say sure of myself. This stuff is basic. My mother, Lydia, taught me this stuff when I was only 7 years old.

"That's right." the teacher says impressed. "Yes, Kira?" She says when she see Kira's hand raised.

"Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?" she wonders.

"No, but there can be multiple sets of DNA in the same individual," the teachers answers informationally, "We call that a chimera. Anyone know where that term comes from?" she pauses to look around for hands. I decide not to raise my hand because I don't want to be called a geek on the first day of a maybe my new life. "Sydney?" the teacher says picking on a girl who I noticed the moment I stepped in the classroom, fiddled with something under her desk.

"Greek mythology." she pauses to think, "It's a lion with a goat coming out of its back and a tail that ends in the head of a snake."

"That's right, Sydney." she says not impressed, which makes me wonder, "Do you want to read us the full Wikipedia entry off your phone?" There it is. the girl was cheating but she wears a stressed face so why. Looks like a person who might drop.

"But that does get us into the next topic of mutation." the teacher continues, "As you know from the reading, DNA is a fragile molecule." she looks over to Scott, who seems to be writing on his paper with intensity. "Isn't it, Scott? Or did you miss last night's assigned reading?"

He forms a worried face, embarrassed, "Kind of."

"Kind of or yes?" the teacher asks to clarify.

"Mostly yes," Scott admits.

"Well, then thank you for another helpful transition in a topic," she says with excitement. "Drop forms."

Those evil words. I already have an idea of who might wanna drop because this class is full of stress and people who bite their nails as a hobby. I follow the teacher as she hands out forms to poor. unfortunate kids who she knows will drop. 'All those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class, you should fill one out," she sets down at least 2 drop forms already and then goes for her desk, "The rest will be on my desk."

I wear a sorrow face as I see Scott stare at the papers on her desk, eye-balling them. He looks like he can't handle the stress of running a pack, finding people like Tracy, and doing this stressful class. It's the same Scott went through raising me. And seeing him look at those papers makes me sad for him. Like it's all my fault. The passing bell rings and I walk out of the classroom side by side with Kira and we both watch as Scott goes to grab a paper. Kira and I both exchange sad faces to one other. We find ourselves in the hallway, I see Ava running over to me with a smile on her face.

"Allison, It's been the best day ever so far today."

"How so?' I say trying to change my face of sorrow to wonderous.

"I've already had two classes with my dad and one with both of them together," she says this really excited to be at school. It's weird because she hates school, "and get this." she pauses and it gives me a chance to think about what if I get a class with my father. There are around 4 or so classes left in the day and I could have him in at least one of academic classes. "There having a game tomorrow night against you know who." Drake's father's team. Excitement course through me as I just want the next day to start to see the game.

"Really," I say intrigued with her words, "What class do you have next?"

To my surprise, "Calculus" Ava says modestly.

"You have it with me..." Ava interrupts my words.

"And guess who else." she says with a smirk upon her face.

"Stiles," I say more than excited. I doubt myself. Maybe this life won't be so bad. My parents are with me. Good classes. Ava's with me. I live with Scott, even though I am already used to that. But what will I be missing? The Scott I know. My pack. My life. Drake. I want to go home. But how? The breaches are closed and we would need to find a breacher to take us to a breach, I way to direct the breach to the right moment in time, and I would have to say 'goodbye' to my parents, again.

Ava notices my sudden frown. "What's wrong?" she says concerned.

"I miss home," I look up to her and she wears the same feeling as I.

" I do too." she laughs a little, "I don't like how my parents fight in this timeline." There's a long pause as we stand in the middle of the hallway. "But how will we find a breach?" Ava wonders.

It takes a while for me to respond, then I say confidently, "We find and catch a breacher."
