One more chapter after this! It's all in Klaus's POV, sorry of it's kind of short :)
Klaus's POV
Chapter 29: Missing
Today was going to be just another day. That's how it started off, anyway. Simple. Since I made Lacey go out the other day, today we were going to have a lazy day just like she wanted. I smile at that thought. Just sitting there with her on my lap. But of course, nothing can ever be that simple. And a lazy day is very, very, far from what actually happened. We hadn't planned to do anything until later on, I'd needed to spend time with my family and Lacey needing time with hers. I have a life, as much as I want to spend every second of everyday with my girl.
Rebekah is starting to get a little edgy. She practically needs everyone's attention on her 24/7. I don't mind them too much, though. My family can be alright to talk to, when they're not all busy being assholes.
Sometimes I stop and wonder what's wrong with me these days. What happened to ruthless and impatient and impulsive? The side I'm so used to showing off. Deep down, I know what happened.
Love; Lacey.
She's changed me. Especially now after everything. But I'll get to that bit later. I can't ruthless and impulsive with her. It's almost as if it's just not in me. Those perfect eyes, her sweet smile, makes me want to be different. I can't be a monster with her. She makes me more human than I thought I could be.
,
I can deny the truth. It would make everything so much easier. I could shut her and everything else out. The first time I saw Lacey on that bridge I could've killed her. Something in those chocolate eyes changed my mind. Even now, when the facts are right in front of me, I could run, forget about her. That's what the old Klaus would do. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. It all started from the beginning of the day, that morning...

My eyes open to the flutter of snowflakes outside. Being a hybrid has it's perks, I can her the soft summitt of the snowflakes as they make contact with the ground. I can see the intricate design of each snowflake on the windowsill. Such delicate patterns. Almost like... Lace. I wish she was next to me.
I wasn't always like this. My walls used to be up, my heart empty. Now, with her, my solid walls easily crumble to the ground.
I guess my day only really started with one little phone call. Funny though, one call can somehow change everything. Right now, however, it only changes my train of thought. Answering to the voice of Stefan, I'm surprised. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to just call to check up on things. Not unless something is wrong.
"Stefan." I say slyly. "Klaus." He replies from the other end. "Is Lacey there?" My eyebrows raise. "No. I haven't seen her since yesterday. Is she not with you?" He sighs. "She was. She mentioned something earlier about going to The Grill, but she's been gone far too long without calling. Her phone is going straight to voicemail. I was hoping she went somewhere with you." I run a hand through my hair. "No, she's not with me. That's not like her at all." I think aloud. Stefan sighs.
"I know."
"If you're worried about her I'll see what I can do. I'll call if I find anything. Or hear anything for that matter."
"Thanks. I'll tell you if we find her." I hang up, then dial Lacey's number, just in case. It goes straight to voicemail, like Stefan said.
This is definitely nothing like the Lacey I know. She would never worry us like this. Not unless we should be worried. How could she just... disappear like that? She couldn't be kidnapped. She's a hybrid, she can defend herself. Not unless she was overpowered by something stronger than her. But what could've done something like that?
Where is she?!
Worse comes to worse, there's one last resort I have in mind.

"Erica. A locator spell. That's all I need. Please. I'll do anything you ask." I ask. This is big. I'm practically begging for her to help me. I don't beg. She sighs. "Do you have a map?" I nod, placing it on the table. She holds out her hand for me to place mine in. I do, and she cuts it, dripping the blood onto the map.
She chants a few words as the blood moved across to our new destination.
Out of anywhere, I never in a million years thought she'd be where the map is pointing. "That can't be right. She can't possibly be there. The spell must be wrong." I tell her, confused. Erica shakes her head, scowling. "Spells aren't wrong. That's where she is. That's all I got, sweetheart. Be grateful. You don't deserve it. Or her for that matter." She walks off leaving me to drown in my thoughts.
What the bloody hell is she doing there?
