Stefan's POV

Chapter 12: Papa Original

A.N)

TIME SKIPPPPPP!

Alright, I weakened. I'm skipping ahead because I've realized that in all the upcoming chapters would be very boring filler chapters with very little importance. So now, Stefan is back and his emotions are off.

Katherine's POV

I drip the human's blood over sleeping Mikael's mouth who lays at rest in his hidden coffin and REFUSES to wake up. I dripped the blood onto his mouth. At last he slowly opens his eyes. "I haven't had human blood in I don't know how long." He says. "It isn't what I feed on." I raise my eyebrows, dropping the unconscious human to the ground.

"We need your help." I say. He raises his eyebrows. "We?"

"I thought you might know how to kill Klaus." I smirks. "I can kill Niklaus. And I will."

Lacey's POV

Apparently, there's something insane going on under the Lockwood property. And since vampires can't get through, I offered to help Alaric check it out. "So the Lockwoods really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property?" I ask, as we walked through, using the flashlights Ric brought to see.

"Yeah. Careful where you shine that thing. Bats hate the light." He said. "Wait, what?" Ric stopped. "Lacey." Someone whispers behind me, sending tingles up and down my spine. I spin around and there stands Damon, his arms in surrender. "Boo." I hit him with my flashlight.

"God, Damon!" I yell. "Scaredy cat." He teases. "Just ignore him." Ric suggests. "That's what I do." I sigh. "So you really can't get in?" I ask Damon He shakes his head. "Nope. Seems even the ancient Lockwoods were anti-vampire."

"What do you mean, ancient?" I ask, as Damon walks in front of me, right behind Ric. "See for yourself."

He stops abruptly. "Well, this is as far as I get to go." He gestures towards and opening towards a new cave. "What is all this?" I ask, looking up. There are some kind of weird symbols all over the cave walls.

"As far as I can tell it's a story. In simple archeological terms, it's a really, really old story." My eyes widen. "That right there, is a moon cycle." He says, gesturing to a symbol. "Man-wolf."

"A werewolf."

"Yeah, it's the Lockwood diaries. Pictionary style." Damon comments. "I don't understand. I thought the Lockwoods came with the original founders in the 1860's." I say, confused. Listening to Stefan talk history seems to have done some good. According to him, if I was to blend in, I needed to know the history. "Maybe the Lockwoods did, but according to this wall, they've been here a hell of a lot longer than that." Ric replies.

"How long?"

"Long, long. It gets better." Damon answers. "Show her, Ric." I turn to where Ric was walking. "Names."

"They're not native. Viking's script." I raise my eyebrows. "Vikings?" He nods. "This name here, translated means: Niklaus." My eyes go wide. I've seen Stefan, I've even seen Rebekah, but even after they came back to Mystic Falls I'd only heard of how Klaus forced Stefan to turn his humanity off.

He may of come back, but to him that meant nothing. I meant nothing.
But I already knew that. I guess I just hadn't accepted it yet. I just don't know if I even care or not anymore. "Klaus." I repeat, feeling his name flow so easily off my tongue. It's funny how natural it feels when I haven't spoken it in so long. Ric nods. "Elijah." He points. "And Rebekah." I gape.

"These are the names of the original family?! Carved into a cave that's been here WAY before the founding of Mystic Falls?" Questions consume my head.

"Or even the entire new world for that matter." Ric says. "That's impossible. It must be one of Klaus's fakes." I argue. Damon smileds. "That's what I said."

"Well, it could be true, except for one last name up here, that makes it seem otherwise." I shine my flashlight towards it so I could see. "What's the name?"

 "Mikael."

"Mikael?" He nods. "Mikael as in the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus?"

"Yup." Damon replied. "And I like to call him Papa Original."

Alaric's POV

I take a ton of pictures with my camera, and bring them back to the Salvatore boarding house. I sigh. "These symbols tell a story. To learn the story, you have to decipher the symbols first."

Lacey's POV

I 'train' with Damon as Alaric tries to figure out the symbols. He easily takes the knife from my hand. "Sloppy." He comments. "Shut up. I'm new at this." I counter. I'm now completely breathless. "Certain sources say that the cave will lead us to a weapon that can kill Klaus." Damon says to Ric as I attempted to kick him. The souces thing perplexes me, but I'm too preoccupied to question it. I wince a bit at the thought of killing Klaus. I'd be lying if I said I don't still care about him, even though he obviously could care less about me.

"Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon anyway?" I ask. He grabs my hand as I try to stab/not stab him with it. "Yes. Which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikael who we've already found and lost." I use both hands to try and beat him, but Damon is stronger than me and grabs the knife from my hand, putting it over my heart.

"Bang. You're dead." He jokes, pretending to bite my neck. I shove him away. "These images may at the very least tell us what that weapon is." Ric says. I walked over to him, Damon follows. "Then all we have to do is find out what they mean."

"Fine. Fine. How do you suppose we do that?"

Damon's POV

I head back to the boarding house, leaving Lacey at Ric's place. I call her to check up on things, just in case. "Hey." She said. "What's up?" I ask. She sighs. "Helping Ric decipher symbols. Same as when you left me." She says in a sing-song voice.

"How's Stefan?" She asks. Stefan's been in the cellar for a while. We had been trying to get him to turn his humanity back on. "Pouty." I reply. "Tell him to get over it. He's a pain in the ass." She hangs up and I smile.

Lacey sure is in a good mood. "Lacey says your a pain in the ass." I  tell Stefan. He doesn't reply.

I open the door, Stefan doesn't look pleased. "You know, if you and Lacey are going to keep me in here for another decade, the least you can do is skip the nasty part." I sigh. "You know I'm not a fan of this whole torture strategy. But Lacey thinks this whole plan is gonna weaken you out. Because you're not going anywhere near Elena until you turn your emotions are back on."

"If I had a say in this, Lacey wouldn't be involved either, but I guess I don't."

"We should all listen to Lacey, right? Her plans don't even always work out do they? And last I checked, you're over a century older than her."
