Klaus's POV
Chapter 5: Damsel Rescue Mission
Katherine looks scared as hell when she sees me. "Thank you, Katerina for having the good sense to be frightened." I growl. Her eyes widen and she just runs. As usual. I forget all about her, when I see Lacey. She is bound to the chair, her head thrown back and her eyes closed. Then I see her leg. Blood is everywhere. "No."
I rush to her, unbinding the ropes. She falls limp in my arms. Her body is cold.
I bite my wrist, bringing it to her lips. "Come on, sweetheart. Drink. Lacey, you have to drink." Her eyes stay closed. I squeeze my wrist so blood can drip down her throat. That has to be enough. "Don't die on me, darling. I can't have the Salvatores passing me off as a murderer, can I? Wake up."
I know I've done all that can be done, I have to wait. I stand up, her in my arms, and search this place for a bed. I lay her done after finding one. Now I have to clean up the blood. It's a good thing I'm old enough that I've grown to resist such temptations. I find a cloth and wet it. I carefully scrup off the dried blood from her leg.
When it's gone I notice that the wound is now non-exsisant. She's healing. I kiss her forehead. "Wake up." I whisper. I'm answered with a soft moan. Her eyes are forced open. She blinks, and places a hand to her head. Her eyes focus on me. "Klaus?" She whispers. I smile. "You had me worried. I should've known you're a fighter."
"My head hurts."
"That's not surprising, I fed you my blood."
"What?" I laugh. "You would've died. I think the odds are currently in your favor unless you manage to get yourself killed in the next 24 hours."
"The odds are never in my damn favor." She growls. Her voice sounds scratchy, and she coughs. I "It seems I can't do much to fix that." I grin. "But I can take you home. I'm sure your brothers are worried sick."
"Brothers?"
"Stefan and Damon."
"We're not related."
"No?"
"No. Besides, I can walk home by myself."
"I doubt that. Did you forget you were just stabbed?"
She shakes her head. "I'm fine." Lacey stands p to prove her point. Her legs are steady for a moment, then wobbly, and then they give out. I catch her, picking her up in my arms.
"Is that really necessary?"
"Of couse." I grin.

When we get to the boarding house, I knocked and there's no answer. It's locked. "They must be looking for you." I said to her.
I pull my phone from my pocket and give it to Lacey. "Call them." She dialls a number, and is quickly answered. "Hey."
"Everything's fine, Stefan, I promise. I'm okay."
"I'm at the boarding house. It's locked. Let's just say I got a ride home." She says, smirking at me. I chuckle. A real fighter she is.
She hands me back the phone.
"Klaus, how did you find me?"
"Didn't I promise to watch over you?"
"Yes, but why?"
"Why not? And what would've happened if I hadn't?"
"Thank you. For everything."
I grin. "Of course. I'm afraid I must be off. I don't think Stefan and Damon would be very happy to find me here. Watch yourself, Lacey." I set her down on the front steps.
"Wait. I was just wondering, how did your blood heal me?" I wink at her. "All in good time."
And I'm gone.
Lacey's POV
"Lacey!" Stefan calls out. His car is now parked, Damon follows as they walk towards the house. You're okay!"
"Yeah, it's kind of a long story. Will you open the door? I kind of need a shower. And maybe a change of clothes. I don't think bloodstains are making a comeback."

After a nice hot shower, eating Stefan and Damon out of house and home, and avoiding any and all questions about 'my ride home,' I decide a nap is the best thing I can do. Even though I passed out, I'm completely exhausted.
You would think I would have some nightmare after what I just went through. Apparently not.
My dreams were nothing but sweet and hopeful. My knight in shining armor, who coincidently had eyes like sapphires.

"Dreaming about me? Explains the drool."
I gasp. "Klaus? What are you doing here?!" He chuckled. His back is leaned against the wall in the corner of my room. A smirk light up his face. "Checking up on you, of course. I did save your life today. Or are you so quick to forget already?" I smile. "Of course not. How could I? I can't thank you enough."
"I will never allow anyone to harm you, love. I want you safe." He walks towards me, holding out an arm. I grab it, and wrap my arms around him into a hug. He seems surprised at first, and then melts into it.
"Thank you." I whisper I'm no longer thinking about any of my problems. I didn't think about Elena dying, or Stefan and Damon killing me if they catch me, or mending my relationship with Elijah, I don't think about my father or the dreams I've been having. It's like us against the world. Nothing can come between us.
His body fits perfectly with mine, it's like we were made to fit. I can't help but feel grateful. He saved me. Maybe I don't deserve it, maybe I do. But everything that was ever missing is now full. "Goodnight, love."
Klaus's POV
Her eyes fluttered open. "Morning." She moaned. I grin. "Sleep well?" She nods, placing her head on my chest. "Are you hungry?" Lacey asks. I smirked. "Why? Are you offering?" She groaned. "Why is EVERYONE a vampire?! That's why your blood healed me, isn't it?"
"Something like that." Her face turns sincere."I'm glad you stayed."
She now sits up. "I'm starving." I pull her closer to me. "Stay." She smiled. "Why?" I pull her back into my arms. "Because I want you to." She laughs.
"What time is it?"
"Four o'clock." She shoots up. "You let me sleep till four o'clock?!"
"After yesterday, did you really want me to wake you up?" She smiles, resting back into my arms. "I guess not."
