"hey, tyler," ashley said as she noticed him walking through the front doors of the store.

"h-hi," he said softly putting his things down and pulling out his headphones.

"you alright, tyler? you look pale today."

"i'm f-fine."

"you sure?" ashley asked, giving him the jokingly caring mom look she had and making him crack a little smile.

he nodded his head.

"alright, then i'm out, i'll be back for the place a little later ty, gotta leave early and you gotta fill in for me since you're already here," she said ruffling his hair and tossing him the keys. "thanks, ty. i'll make it up to you."

tyler hummed in response.

"dude, you're gonna get cut," brendon said, passing him the joint and coughing at the same time.

josh gladly took it, leaning against the back of the uncomfortable bleachers out in the field and taking a long drag on the hand made cigarette.

josh held it in for a second before coughing it out violently, then passing it to ashley, noticing her red stinging eyes from the past drags.

she laughed loudly before taking it between her fingers and stretching her legs on the field. "oh come on brendon, the coach wouldn't cut josh if he wasn't allowed on school grounds anymore," she said taking a closed eyed drag on it again.

ashley had on a pastel purple jacket around her arms- they were hanging off her shoulders and were trapped in her elbows- she wore the shortest short shorts there are, and a blue crop top with no shoulders and a long neck. it complemented her blue hair that was only shoulder length.

she smiled as she passed the almost smoked out joint to brendon.

he was wearing black basketball shorts with a hoodie around his waist, his big framed glasses, and a regular gray shirt.

he was busy rolling another one so he passed it to josh who took it with a bit of surprise.

"coach fucking hates me, man," he said laughing to ashley and also at her because she obviously has always gotten red eyes before the other two boys. "the only reason i haven't been cut yet is because i play okay."

"play okay," ashley giggled, "that rhymed."

it caused josh to laugh too, while brendon wasn't really paying attention and was more focused on rolling the other joints and putting them away in his backpack before the next bell rang.

they're cutting their last class right now, but school was almost over.

"alright, gimme that," brendon said, snatching the joint from josh and taking a long drag before stomping it out on the grass.

"awe," ashley and josh said in unison, both looking at each other and laughing afterwards.

while brendon and josh's eyes were only slightly red, ashley looked like a mess. but that was good for josh, because right now he had a game.
