"where a-are we going?" tyler asked after centuries of silence between the two in the car.

"well, you said you wanted to go back to school, so.." joshua replied, a look on his face tyler couldn't identify.

a few seconds of silence was heard again, the brunette playing with his fingers as he questioned himself what to say. "w-well where do y-you wanna go?"

"i don't know," he said, "somewhere peaceful."

"why are you acting so weird?" josh laughed at tyler's undeniably cute embarrassment.

"i-it's just that i-i've n-never kissed you w-without being drunk or s-something," tyler hesitated in reply.

they were at the waterfall again, tyler was sitting in his lap straddling him with josh's arms around his waist.

"oh, if that's the problem," josh said, grabbing his backpack and pulling out a bag of marijuana and a beer that he handed to tyler.

tyler just stared at the can and the bag and started giggling uncontrollably. "what?"

"i-it's just that b-brendon just got arrested f-for holding and then y-you," tyler laughed more, joshua just smiling because of tyler's giggling.

josh took a joint out of the bag and lit it as tyler open the beer and started drinking it.

tyler was taken by surprise when josh crashed their lips together in a passionate but rough motion. his hand on the back to tyler's neck, tyler's arms being thrown over his shoulders with beer still in hand.

he didn't expect his mouth to still be clouded with smoke when he opened it and released it into tyler's mouth. the intoxicating air already was burning his mind, making him smile into the kiss, breathing in through his mouth when they pulled apart.

the breath out consisted of smoke and the scent of beer.
