Here it is! After 3 or maybe even 4 months, it is chapter 17! I hope you enjoy! But, it's kinda short so....sorry.

Chapter 17: The Royal Engagement "Well, Remus and I are off to go plan the ball." I said grabbing my things, including my wand, some parchment, an inkwell, and a quill. I had changed into a comfortable outfit which consisted of yoga leggings, red converse, and a Gryffindor sweatshirt that I had bought in Diagon Alley. "Can we come with you?" James asked hopefully. "James! I just wanna be with Remus for right now." He sighed as if to say 'finnnee.' I smiled at him and walked over to the couch where Remus was asleep, gaining energy for the full moon tonight. I knelt down next to him and ruffled his hair. "Remus! Time to get to the Room Of Requirement," I murmured in his ear. He shot straight up into sitting position and kissed my cheek. "Gross!" i complained wiping my cheek. "Morning breath...sorta." He chuckled and got off the couch, stumbling a bit. I grabbed his arm to help him stand and he looked at me gratefully. "Alright, let's get going." Remus suggested while looking at James who had a disgusted look on his face. I laughed and took his hand in mine as we walked out of the common room. We are now in the Room Of Requirement, in a room that looked similar to my room at my house. It was actually the exact same now that I think about it. We sat there in silence for a few minutes, holding hands and just enjoying each other's presence. "Remus, why are we planning a ball that won't be until May? It's only March." I complained. There were things that I would much rather be doing right now, like practicing Quidditch. "That's exactly why I brought you here actually." Well, now I am confused. He brought me here because he knew that we didn't need to plan this right now. "Do you mind stepping out of the room for a few minutes?" He asked. That was weird, but I did as he said and walked out of the room. Outside the room, James, Sirius, one of my other good friends Rebecca Rieckmann, and Lily were all standing outside the door. I could tell by their expressions that they knew what was happening. "Guys? What's going on?" I asked them. None of them even spoke a word, they all just had gigantic smiles on their faces. "You aren't going to tell me are you?" Even though I was the smartest of the group, besides Remus, I was quite oblivious to everything, so there was absolutely no way I was going to guess this. "Please?" I asked, giving them my best puppy dog eyes, but nothing was working on them. They all just stood there with smiles on their faces which was making me feel really uncomfortable. "You can go back in now." James finally said. I smiled shyly and walked back into the Room Of Requirement to discover the room had changed.

It was now a beautiful garden with flowers all over the place. There was a little pond off to the right with small goldfish. Off to the left there was a waterfall with a stream that connected to the pond. There was a small bridge over the stream and I walked over it. In front of me was an arched trellis that had beautiful purple weaved through the sides. Just behind the trellis, Remus was standing, with his hands behind his back, wearing the tux I had gotten him over the summer for our graduation. "Hey baby." he said, walking over to me and holding my hands. "What's this all about?" I giggled as he pulled me underneath the trellis. He looked down at our hands and looked back up at me with a big smile on his face. "Abbe. I have known you for almost half my life and for that I am grateful. I remember when I first met you. We were 9 and my parents had brought me to Diagon Alley because we needed some more things for potions. You and James were sitting on a bench right outside of Flourish and Blott's all bundled up in your winter gear. I had taken a liking to you immediately, but did not walk over to you. When we were done, I noticed that you were now inside of the book store which I loved. I went in and we introduced ourselves, immediately becoming friends." He smiled at the memory which I had remembered so well. "We hung out every weekend after that and had so much fun together. It wasn't until years later that I realized I loved you. You are my best friend Abbe. You are the most amazing person I have ever met, You are caring, beautiful, you have the just the right amount of enthusiasm, and you are just an AWESOME person in general." I had stayed quiet the entire time, smiling at the memories that were now present in my mind. "Those are the reasons that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Remus slowly knelt down on one knee and pulled out a box from him jacket. "Is this what I think it is?" I gasped to myself as he opened the box to reveal a beautiful engagement ring. "Abbegayle Elizabeth Potter, will you marry me?" Tears formed in my eyes as I looked into the eyes of the man I loved. He was amazing and how could I say no to him? "Yes. Absolutely. 100% yes!" I whispered, trying to hold back my tears. I watched as Remus' face transformed into a magnificent smile that showed his perfect teeth. He silently slipped the ring onto my left ring finger and kissed me soundly. I saw a flash of light in my peripheral vision and turned my head to the left. Lily stood there with a muggle camera and a large smile on her face. "So! Did she say yes?" Rebecca joked. I flashed her the ring and for the first time, I really go to look at it. It was a plain band with 3 hearts, one big one in the middle with two smaller ones on either sides of it. "How did you afford this?" I asked curiously. Remus did not look one bit offended and went on and answered my question. "James insisted that he would buy the ring for me when I found the right one." James smiled and nodded his head. Things were good and they were only going to get better.
