Chapter 14
Abbe's POV
Remus and I were through Hogsmeade, hand in hand, walking to Flourish and Blott's. Our favorite book store ever. We were heading there to gather some books for Spring Break in about 3 weeks. We approached the door and opened it slightly to see if anyone was in there. There were few people in there but there weren't any students. We walked through different aisles until Remus found one he was looking for. He picked it up and quickly walked towards the counter. I stopped abruptly and he looked back at me strangely. "Remus, what book to you get?" I asked knowing that he really didn't want to tell me.
"It's none of your business." He said angrily. I was taken back. Why was he so angry?
"Listen, I know the full moon is on Monday but there is NO reason for you to act this way!" I said trying to rip my hand out of his iron grip. He moved the book farther away from me as I tried to grab it. I kicked him in the shin and he dropped the book and grabbed his leg in pain. I picked the book up off the ground quickly and ran across the store.
"Dark Curses and Hexes: Ways to Hurt the People you Hate." I read out aloud, quietly to myself. I dropped the book on the ground and ran out of the store. I heard footsteps behind me and ran to the place that I knew he wouldn't find me. The Shrieking Shack. I sat on the bed inside and tried to catch my breath. 'Why did he want to get that book?' I thought to myself. 'Why is he being like this?'. All of a sudden I heard footsteps in the room. I looked up from my hands and saw someone standing at the door. But it wasn't Remus. Standing in front of me was Barty Crouch Jr. He was a Slytherin in my year along with Bellatrix Black, Lucius Malfoy and Severus. "What have you done to Remus?" I growled, clenching my hands into tight balls.
"Remus? Oh, the werewolf? He's not here." He replied with a smirk.
"What do you mean he's 'not here'? He was with me just a couple of minutes ago. We were in Hogsmeade. Don't tell me that he's not here!" I said angrily, trying not to hurt my hands by clenching them too tight.
"Do you want to go to him?" Barty asked me, still smirking. I nodded vigorously, not really noticing who I was talking to. "Then let's go." He said. The next thing I knew I was blinded and bound by ropes on the ground. I struggled to talk and move around realizing that I was talking to a Slytherin. I felt him grab my arm and yank me up until I was standing. I felt the familiar pull of my body, like I was apparating. I couldn't tell where we apparated but I was soon being dragged into somewhere and down some steps. I heard the opening of what sounded like a cell door. I could feel that it was dark in the room just by cold it was. Jeez! I just got myself kidnapped. Way to go!
"I have a friend for you." He said as he shoved me into the cell without taking off the blindfold or the ropes. "Have fun." He said sadistically. I couldn't see his face but I knew he was smirking. The person began to walk towards me.
"Who are you?" The voice asked. I knew that voice. It was Remus. I choked back a sob that was threatening to escape.
"Remus." I barely choke out as the tears start to run down my face.
"No! It can't be!" He whispered. He slowly dropped down next to me and began to undo the blindfold. The feeling of his hands on my face comforted me so much. He slowed lifted it away from my face and cupped my face with his hand. He looked into my eyes as if he was trying to see into my soul. "It is." He whispered. He quickly undid the ropes that bound me and threw them to the side. He turned back to me and hugged me tight as I sobbed into his shoulder. He rubbed his hand on my back as I sobbed. My sobs soon subsided until they were just occasional sniffles. I pulled away from him and looked into his eyes.
"Oh Remus! I am so sorry! I shouldn't have acted up! I was stupid and I am so sorry!" I said starting to cry again. He gently wiped the tears off my face with his thumb and kissed my forehead.
"You have nothing to be sorry about! I am the one who should be sorry. I should have apologized when James and Sirius did and maybe even before them. I am just trying to say that I am terribly sorry." He said hugging me tightly again. I giggled slightly and that soon turned into a full out chuckle. He began to laugh along with me until I was so tired that I was lying on the ground trying to catch my breath. "Let's go to sleep." Remus suggested. I laid down next to him and he put his arm around my waist and I snuggled into his chest. This felt so nice to be with him again.
Sirius' POV
I watched as Crouch grabbed Abbe and apparated away. God! She could be to desperate for her own good! I stormed off towards Hogsmeade in search of James, Lily and Greyson. "JAMES!" I yelled as I approached Zonko's, where him, Lily and Grey were standing. They all turned around to see the worried look on my face. James quickly ran over and questioned me.
"Where's Abbe?" He asked worridly.
"She was kidnapped! I don't know where she was taken but I saw Barty Crouch Jr. taking her somewhere." I said trying to get him to follow me back to the castle. "I think he took her to where Remus really is. And before you ask, the Remus we saw the last few days wasn't really him. It was Crouch using Polyjuice Potion I think." James stared at me with his mouth open and decided to say something.
"We have to tell my mum and dad. We shouldn't tell Dumbledore. He won't help very much. He will say to just wait and let things fall into place." James added angrily. Lily put a comforting arm around him as we ran towards the Gryffindor Common Room to use the fireplace and floo to Godric's Hollow. We made it to the Common Room and ran over to the fireplace. I dug a bag of floo powder out of my pocket and grabbed a handful and handed it to Lily. I stepped into the fireplace and yelled. "THE POTTER'S HOUSE, GODRIC'S HOLLOW".
James' POV
I watched as Lily, Grey and Sirius were all swished away towards my home. 'I hope Abbe and Remus are okay and stay that way until we get there' I thought as I yelled "THE POTTER'S HOUSE, GODRIC'S HOLLOW."
"MUM! DAD!" I yelled as I stumbled out of the fireplace.
"James?" I heard my mum yell back as she ran into the living room to see that I was standing there with Lily, Greyson and Sirius. "Where's Abbe?"
"That's why we came." Sirius started as my mum hugged me and him. My dad soon rushed into the room when he heard that Abbe wasn't here.
"What do you mean 'that's why you came'? Is she okay?" My mum asked, her lip quivering in fear. My dad hugged her tightly.
"Well we don't know." I said. "She was kidnapped. We don't know where she is." My lip started to quiver just like my mum's as I explained our predicament. I joined the hug with my mum and dad and we held each other close.
"Not to interupt anything but we think she is with Remus. I have a theory that she and him may be at Malfoy Manor along with You-Know-Who because I have heard from my brother, that that's where he is staying. We might want to develop a plan-" Sirius was soon cut off by mum.
"WE DON'T NEED A PLAN! WE HAVE TO GET MY DAUGHTER BACK!" She wailed.
"We will get her mum. We have to. The full moon is on Monday. We can't leave her there with Remus. She'll die. We leave tomorrow." I said as I backed away from my parents and to Lily. "We'll come back tomorrow and then we will leave." I moved back to hug my parents once last time before we left to go back to Hogwarts.
As soon as we got back to Hogwarts I kissed Lily's cheek and ran up the steps to the 7th year boys dormitory. I sat on my bed and put my head in my hands. I took a deep breath to try to calm myself. 'I can't even believe that I had left her. I knew that that Remus wasn't who he said he was. Now she and him are all alone'. I began to cry into my hands as I thought more about my sister. Sirius walked into the room and sat down on the bed next to me. I looked at him.
"Sirius, we need to leave tomorrow morning. Really Early."
