Seeing

Chapter 5: Seeing 

          The week had pasted without any problems. Except on Wednesday, the full moon. Mooney sadly had to deal with his transformation alone because James was helping Abbe, Abbe was blind and Sirius had forgotten since Mya and him had gotten together in the hospital wing. It was now time to go to bed on Saturday and they were all extremely excited for Sunday because Abbe would be able to see again! "Well, guys I think I am going to go to bed. We got a big day tomorrow. Can we go down to by the lake tomorrow after breakfast? I want to see all the flowers before they start to die." Abbe begged. 

"Sure, I don't see why not." Remus replied. She mumbled a quick 'thanks' and walked over to Remus who gave her a goodnight kiss and walked back to James who walked her to the steps kicked the wooden board at the bottom and the steps stayed so he could walk up with her. 

"I can't wait for tomorrow!" Abbe said to James when they got to the seventh year dorms.

"I know! I should probably get going, Maggie will be waiting for me downstairs." James said. "But, first I'll help you get ready for bed." Abbe had gotten on her pajamas that James picked out. They were a bright blue (her favorite color) with little pure white owls on them. He helped her get into bed for the last time.

He kissed her forehead and walked down the steps. The last thing Abbe thought about before she fell alseep was being able to see Severus again. The three boys didn't aprove of him, though they believed she was right...as always. 

            Abbe was just laying there, eyes closed, afraid to open them, afraid of still seeing nothing. But, she wouldn't be in Gryffindor if it weren't for her bravery. She slowly opened her eyes to see the top of the bed. "Oh my god, I can see!" She whispered to herself. "James, Remus, Sirius!!!" She yelled as she ran down the stairs to the common room. Remus was sleeping on the couch, James on the floor next to the fireplace and Sirius in the chair. "JAMES HAROLD POTTER IF YOU DO NOT GET UP RIGHT THIS SECOND I WILL HEX YOU INTO NEXT WEEK!!" She yelled waking up the Gryffindors and probably the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, maybe even the Slytherins in the dungeons. James jumped awake along with Remus and Sirius. 

"Abbe, how did you now we were here?" Sirius asked surprised.

"I can see, duh!"

"Wait, how do we truly know?" James asked.

"Guys, why don't you trust Abbe? Do you really think that she would lie about something like this!" Remus exclaimed.

"Ok, if you want proof here it goes. First I want you to put a silencing spell on your feet so I can't hear them when you move." 'Silencio' she heard the boys say and they looked at her."Okay, now what I want you to do is move somewhere around the room." She watched them as they moved to other places around the room, making sure that they saw her head move. "Okay, now stop. Remus you are over by the boys dorm steps, Sirius is by the portrait hole and finally James is by the painting of Godric Gryffindor holding a Golden snitch." She smiled as she finished, waiting for the boys to run up and hug her. The boys were all in shock but all sprinted over to her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Well, I am glad to see you guys are happy...I think it's time for our very first prank of our seventh."

"I concur with that milady, I do believe it is time for a prank." Sirius said in his best historical type voice.

"Well, then lets get started." James said, chuckling. 

"Wait, let me get dressed first and eat some breakfast, then we will go out by the lake and discuss this." Abbe said excitedly as she ran back to the girls  dorms. She ran back downstairs in record breaking time (3 minutes and 16 seconds.) wearing a bright pink sweater and black jeans and her blue converse that she wore almost always on the weekends. The boys had already gotten dressed the night before because they knew they wouldn't want to change in the morning.

            They walked out of the portrait hole upon seeing Maggie and Mya walk down the steps. The Marauders didn't want the others knowing of their pranks. Outside the great hall they saw a black haired person waiting by the door. "Severus! It's so good to see you!" Abbe yelled while running to him and hugging him. "Hey, Lizzy" he said hugging her back. He had gotten used to hugging her since they became better friends in 5th year during the tri wizard tournament and she danced with him. He remembered it well.

Flashback to fifth year tri wizard tournament

           He had been sitting at the table all alone. Nobody had asked him to go and he hadn't asked anyone either. He didn't want to go. He went anyway to see the girl he'd been in love with since first year. Abbegayle Elizabeth Potter. She was dancing with her boyfriend, Remus Lupin. He growled. 'Why would she choose a bloody werewolf over me. I surely am smarter.' He watched as they waltzed across the dance floor with everyone's eyes on them. 'That should be me.' He thought angrily adding another growl for effect. The were soon done dancing and the walked over to a table near his and sat down. Abbe mumbled something to Remus just as a new slow song started to play. He nodded a little and she walked over to him. She was wearing a beautiful strapless knee length dress that was all rufflly at the end making is look like an ocean current. It also had a sparkly belt that was just below her waist line.

She stopped in front of him and kneeled down. 'Would you like to dance?' She said. 'I would love to' he replied softly. They slowly stood up and made their way to the dance floor. The dance floor was now cleared thanks to James, Remus and Sirius. They also had the DJ put on one of Abbe's favorite songs, Bless the Broken Road. The assumed the position and started dancing around. 'So Potter, why did you want to dance with me.' 'You looked lonely and don't call me Potter, that's my brother. Call me Lizzy.Yes, I am aware that my real name is Abbe but, everyone calls me that.' They hadn't spoke at all after that until the were done dancing. 'Thank you' Severus said to Abbe. 'Anytime Severus.' She replied.

He held her for another minute or two until they heard a slight cough from behind them. They jumped apart immediately.

"Sorry Severus, but I have to go." Abbe said backing towards the Great Hall. 

"Sure, It's fine" Severus replied. With that the Marauders walked into the Great Hall with Severus close behind. The group of four sat down at the Gryffindor table with their stomachs growling. As soon as Sirius sat down he began piling food onto his plate. Pancake after Pancake, Sausage after Sausage was eaten by him. The others ate slower than him but, still ate about the same amount of food. 'Merlin, these boys are pigs.' Abbe thought. She had only had about 15 strawberries and a glass of pumpkin juice when the boys were ready to go outside. "Gosh, guys your going to get a stomachache. I will not be the one to take care of you if you do."

"Ahh, come one sis, you know you love me." James said.

"I guess." She said smiling grabbing Remus hand, both of them standing up and running out of the hall and down to the lake.
