The (Un)expected Photos

Baekhyun picked up his phone to call Lay to ask him for Sehun's phone number. The dialing tone went on and on for minutes long. Baekhyun just kept trying and trying as well since he realised he didn't have Kyungsoo or Kai's number either. He laid on the bed and texted Lay as well as called. He did everything for 20 minutes until the call got picked up.

"Lay?! Can I have Sehun's number please??!!" He said immediately, feeling all his senses tingling. He paused to wait for Lay's answer but all that came through were sobbing sounds. Baekhyun tensed up. He somehow just knew the person on the line wasn't Lay. It sounded more... High pitched.

"Hello? Um... Are you okay?" Baekhyun asked softly and the person on the other side stopped sobbing.

"P-please... Please help me... No. Help Lay. Please," the person wailed and it sent shivers down Baekhyun's spine. The person's voice was all shaky and unstable.

"Who are you? What happened to Lay and where are you?" Baekhyun spoke tensely while getting up from bed.

"I-I'm called Chen....or Kim Jongdae. I-I was visiting Lay yesterday at his hotel when all of a sudden this group of guys just grabbed him and-and one of them almost shot me. I don't know why this is happening. Please help him. I don't know where he is but that guy left some kind of parcel here. I-i don't dare to look in it," the person cried. Baekhyun breathed out to calm himself.

"Alright. Calm down. Uh... Send me your location and I'll come over, alright? I'll call the polic-"

"NO!! The man said not to or...or he would kill Lay at once," Chen interrupted.

"Huh? He told you that?"

"He came inside the room and I hid under the bed. He shot randomly but it was so...so close to me. And he said I know you're in there... And and and... He said he left a package on the table and if I called the police, he will make sure Lay never see the sunlight ever again. He was saying all these cliché things."

"I see. I'll just inform my father then. Please stay safe meanwhile. I'm Baekhyun by the way."

"Thank you so much... I was so lost at what to do until you called." Baekhyun heard the relief in the boy's voice. They cut the call and moments later, the boy's location was sent to Baekhyun. Baekhyun quickly went to find his father.

"I wonder how is Lay now," Sehun mumbled as he and Kai played with the PlayStation 3. They had eaten lunch, got home safely, finished all their work and revision which Sehun drilled into Kai, so for the resting hour, Kai had suggested playing the PS which Sehun had never played before. Kai grunted while focusing on the game.

"Yes! I won! Whooooo! Lay? Why worry all of a sudden?" Kai said after the words Game Over appeared on the screen. Sehun shrugged.

"Just a sudden feeling that something happened." Just as Sehun finished talking, his phone vibrated beside him. He picked it up and looked at the message. It was from Lay. "Speak of the devil." He opened it and read through. The more he read, the colder his blood ran and the paler he got. Kai peeked over to look at the message and he gasped.

"Is that real?" Kai whispered. Sehun started shaking. From anger. He immediately called Lay's number.

"Is what you said real?!" He yelled once the phone was answered.

"Yes...," Chen replied. Sehun gasped and breathed heavily. He closed his eyes to let his thoughts arrange themselves. Kai took Sehun's phone away.

"You mean to say Lay got kidnapped? By anonymous people?" Kai asked.

"I won't forgive them, whoever who did this," Sehun whispered. He stood up and went to the door.

"Wait. You don't even know who they are or where are they now," Kai said while holding Sehun back. He put Chen on speaker. Sehun gritted his teeth.

"Let's meet up first, please? I want to open the package but I don't dare to do it alone. I think that it has whatever the kidnapper wanted me to do in there or else he wouldn't have mentioned it...."

"We will go. Where are you?" Sehun said slowly, his anger seething within him. Kai took out his phone and texted Kyungsoo.

"I'll send you the address."

They left the house and Kai cycled there within 30 minutes. The hotel wasn't too far. He parked his bicycle somewhere further from the hotel and they called Chen to get the hotel room number. Once they got it, they went up to the room. The door was wide open and Sehun looked in first. He could see the package on the table but not Chen.

"Chen? Are you there?" He asked while cautiously entering the room with Kai. "Its me, Sehun."

"Sehun?" A tired voice spoke from deeper within the room. Sehun turned his head and saw Chen sitting in the corner of the room. His eyes were puffy and he was visibly trembling. Chen barely looked like himself anymore. It made something stir within Sehun. An anger he hadn't felt in a long time. He didn't even feel this angry when Baekhyun didn't tell him about the marriage thing. He walked over to Chen and helped him onto the bed. Kai closed the door and looked at the parcel without touching it.

"I'm so glad you guys are here or else I wouldn't know what to do....," Chen sighed. He was gripping Sehun's arm rather tightly but the other didn't even care about the pain.

"Shall I take a look inside this folder?" Kai asked, noting that Chen wasn't in any condition to go through anything more stressful. Sehun nodded in response. Kai opened it and pulled out the photos that were inside. He looked at them and his eyes widened twofold their size. He pulled out all the photos and breathed in sharply.

"No way....," he whispered and finally pulled out the note that was buried beneath the photos.

"What are they?" Sehun asked. He didn't move away either since Chen kept holding onto him. Kai flinched when Sehun talked.

"This... I can't show you. No way," Kai said while gulping. He shoved all the photos back into the parcel. Sehun was bewildered by Kai's actions.

"Why can't you show me?" Sehun asked. Kai took the parcel and dashed to the door. "KAI?!!" Kai was about to exit the room when the door slammed onto him instead. He slipped and the parcel fell, all its contents spilling out as well.

Byun Baekhyun poked his head inside and saw the photos.
