Chapter two
We're stranded? Somebody, help!
Just like what Kakashi expected, once they escaped that metallic box, they would draw in too much attention by the sound it created and now they were being chased by their pursuers around the ship. Kana was on Kakashi's back as he ran. Kunai and shuriken flew at their way and Kakashi easily dodged it despite the fact he was carrying Kana. They finally reached the deck where they saw two of the same men who attack them earlier. Kakashi clenched his teeth. Great, now what am I going to do? He asked himself with a sigh.
He couldn't weave signs while carrying Kana, and he couldn't just leave her alone or else they might hurt her or take her as hostage. He briefly glanced at the wide, beautiful, blue sea then at the enemies before them. He didn't have any choice but to escape. With a free hand, he sneakily got two smoke bombs from his pouch and threw it on the ground. Smoke filled the air as he held onto Kana tightly and quickly jumped into the water.
He focused his chakra on his feet so that he could walk on water. Kana held on to his neck tightly as he tried to run away. He didn't know where, but he only knew that they really need to get out of there. Paper bombs tied to kunai were thrown their way and exploded only a few feet away from them. Kana screamed in shock, she was now trembling with fear.
The enemies ran after them and they were easily able to catch up but Kakashi was still ahead. One of the men abruptly stopped in his tracks and stretched their hand out to the side, stopping his friend from chasing after them. He raised his sleeve, revealing a gadget attached on his arm, the weapon has so many weapons like kunai with paper bombs tied to it. With one press of the button it made its way toward them. Kana's eyes widened at the sight as she froze, paralyzed from fright.
Kakashi who immediately noticed her sudden behavior turned around to see what she saw. His eyes widened as well in shock but he quickly thought of a plan. He purposely lost focus of the chakra on his feet, 'causing them to both fall into the water with a loud splash. Kakashi and Kana were separated because of that impact, but they were lucky that they were able to dodge that attack. Kakashi acted fast and grabbed her hand; they swam as fast as they could to get away. Kakashi was starting to get frantic but of course, his face doesn't show it. He couldn't think of an idea; they were in the middle of the sea and there is nowhere to go at the moment.
It was then they saw a paper bomb floating just in front of them. Before any of them could even react, the paper bomb exploded. Kana raised her arms, in an attempt to protect herself. She closed her eyes tightly because of the bright light, the light was soon followed by an incredible loud noise. The impact on them was far greater than expected. They were thrown away by the blast like as if they were merely just a tiny pebble. Pain shot through their bodies, as blood seeped out from it. They were slowly drowning deeper and deeper into the sea, the both of them were barely conscious. Both of their lungs were burning from the lack of oxygen most especially Kana's. Kakashi fought his eyes open and ignored the pain he felt. With all his might he swam to Kana and carried her bridal style.
Meanwhile, their pursuers left and ran back to their ship, thinking that they have finished them off. Kakashi swam up and desperately gasped for air once he reached the surface. He took in large, deep breaths, trying to fill his lungs with air. He looked down at Kana, who was at his arms and noticed that she was already unconscious. Kakashi let out a sigh of relief, as he could hear her soft but ragged breath. Kakashi scanned his surroundings, trying to see if there was at least any sign of land. Relief crossed his face at the sight of a small island just up ahead.
With the chakra he has left, he focused it on his feet and stood up on the water, his posture was slump a bit and Kana was still in his arms. His mask was more torn than before, revealing a little bit of his left cheek and his right leg and left arm was slightly burned, but it wasn't so serious. While Kana didn't look as radiant as the first time he saw her but she still looked very beautiful. Her forearms were also burned, but not serious like Kakashi's and some parts of her beautiful dress is torn and muddy. Kakashi slowly walked toward that island and winced with every step. He was hoping that they could at least find help.
