It was way past 12:30 a.m and Jong In still hadn’t come back from work. You sighed heavily as you look at the cake and the dinner served on the candle lit table. You bit on your lower lip as a tear falls out, you walk across the room and switch on the lights. Today was the 3rd anniversary of your relationship with Jong In. He had called you earlier and promised you that he would come home early to celebrate it with you.
But like any other promises he made, it was another promise broken. You understood that the fact that your boyfriend is an idol and he was busy but it seems like he had never made any time with you. You definitely had enough of this but you didn’t dare to break up with him because you love him. And that you need him by your side even if he wasn’t always there for you.
You sat down on the sofa and you bury your face in your hands as your tears flowed. But then, the door burst open to reveal Jong In who was sweating with an angry expression on his face. When his eyes met with yours, he rolled his eyes and went towards the bedroom. Something was terribly wrong but you were just afraid to ask him what’s wrong because Jong In is a very bad-tempered person.
But he had never intend to show his dark side to you. You chase after him and opened the bedroom door. And there he was, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Hey, are you okay?” You ask softly as you kneeled in front of him.
“Do I look okay?!” He snapped at you.
His angry gaze held your gaze for a second as you blink twice. Shocked with his behavior.
“Do…you…want to….talk about it?” You said, slowly as you reach up to stroke his hair, but his hands were fast and he swatted your hand away.
“No. Don’t touch me, _____.” Jong In said and you fell backwards.
“What is wrong with you? I’m just trying to be a good girlfriend and will you please stop acting like this.” You said as you stood up in front of him.
Jong In just glared at you and you continue to stare at him. And then, he laughs.
“A good girlfriend, huh? A good girlfriend never cheats on their boyfriend, _____-ah! You think I didn’t know that Tao has been coming over here and doing who knows what with you!” Jong In stood up and you took a step back from him.
“What?” You snapped at him, totally pissed off.
Tao did come over once or twice when Jong In was busy with his dance and the two of you only had movie nights. Tao was like a little brother to you, nothing more and Jong In knew that.
“I know that you know Tao has been coming over here because I told you about it! Jong In, did you seriously think that I would cheat on you? We’ve been together for almost three years and I love you and you know that.” You said, sounding a little hurt.
“Maybe in those 3 years, I don’t love you anymore. I’m so fucking bored being with you, maybe that’s why the guys dumped you.” Jong In gritted through his teeth.
You stood there, motionless. Not knowing what to do, you just stare at him as a tear rolled down your cheek. So, he didn’t love you anymore. Every words that came out of his lips made you feel like you had been stabbed for so many times.
“You don’t….. love me…” You repeated, slowly as you ran your fingers through your hair.
You couldn’t look at Jong In in the eye anymore. You step back and lean against the wall as you clutch your head in your hands, trying to stop the tears. You panted as his words jumbled through your head. But the more you thought of his words, the more your heart hurts.
“Why am I so stupid to love you….” You whispered to yourself.
Silence fills the room. No matter how hard you fought, you couldn’t stop the tears. No matter how bad you want to leave, you couldn’t bring your legs to move. So, you leaned your back against the wall for the moment. Jong In had stayed quiet too. You thought he would maybe left you after what he said but then, his voice rang in your ears.
“______, I-I….Please, I’m…sorry…I didn’t know what got into me to say that…You know that’s not true…right?” His voice had soften.
“I don’t even know you anymore…” You said slowly as you look up at him.
Jong In ran his hand through his hair, frustrated with the sight of you crying. He sighed, regretting what he had said. He walks towards you and wipe your tears away with his fingers. He held your face in his hands,
“I love you…and I’m sorry. I had a fight with Kris and the manager was yelling at me for trying to leave early to see you. ______, I love you. I had never stopped loving you. Please, believe me.” Jong In said.
You just stood there quietly, he sighed and kissed you on the lips before pulling you towards the bed. He gestured you to lay down and you did. Then, you watch as he took off his shirt and climb onto the bed, wrapping his arms around your waist as he bury his head in the crook of your neck.
You didn’t bother to say anything anymore. You didn’t truly believe everything he said. He just told you that he didn’t love you anymore even though, he had cleared things up earlier, you still couldn’t shake the feeling off you. The feeling that he didn’t love you anymore. He had been a little distant from you and sometimes he never picks up when you called.
His manager had been telling you to break up with him because as you know, his company was always strict and when it comes to relationship, they would do almost anything to break things up. You could hear Jong In’s soft snore as you stare at the ceiling. You love Jong In but…sometimes; you just thought that you and him were never meant to be together.
Maybe it’s time for you and him to part ways.
