04. Radley

It has officially been two weeks since I 'moved in' with Louis Tomlinson of One Direction. It's kind of weird; being asked to live with a super famous British boy and all. The weirder part is that Louis hasn't been himself- or what my definition of himself is- for the past four days.

He's been keeping to himself, always quiet, and only talks to me when I ask him questions. It also looks like he cries a whole lot.

I knew I had to get to the bottom of this. Being his new penthouse buddy- maybe even his friend- I didn't want to see him upset.

Right now I was at the dance studio- where I gave lessons to children- waiting for my boss, Trish, to give me my pay; in cash. This was the only way I made money but Caleb would always take it from me to pay for his booze.

"You've been doing really well with the students, Radley." Trish smiled. She was like an older sister to me and I trusted her with my life, "How are things at home, sweetie? I see a fading bruise on your cheek."

"I, um, I left him. For good." I mumbled.

"Are you for real?"

I nodded.

"Rad, this is fantastic! I am so happy for you!" Trish pulled me in for a tight hug, "Where are you staying, then? I know how much you hate staying by yourself."

"With a good friend," I smiled, "listen, I have to go. I'll see you in two days."

"Yes, you will! See ya, Rad."

We waved goodbye and I walked out of the studio. I flagged down a taxi and told the driver the address of the penthouse.

I payed him for his services and ran into the building. I took the elevator up to the top floor and quickly entered the house.

"Louis?" I called out, "Louis! I have something for you."

He trudged out of his bedroom and took a seat on the couch. I took the envelope that had my pay in it and went to sit next to him. I took half of what I was payed, three- hundred dollars per one day- and put it between his hands.

"What the heck is this?" Louis looked up at me.

"Um, rent? I know it's not much but I'll be payed again in two days. If it's too little, I can always add some to it."

"No, I mean, why are you giving me rent? I don't need this money, Radley. I've already got enough of that. Just keep this. You need it more than I do." He muttered, shoving the bills back into the envelope.

"What's wrong, Louis? Is my being here bothering you? I can go back to Caleb if you're getting annoyed with me."

"No, you are never going back to that asshole. You can't keep getting hurt by a guy who doesn't even love you."

"Why are you acting so weird then? You're aura is so off."

"I don't know. It doesn't really matter." He whispered.

I put the envelope on the coffee table and grabbed ahold of his hands. I ignored the tingling feeling that ran through my body.

"You brought me to live with you for a reason. That reason being that I help you with whatever you're going through. If you don't tell me what's on your mind, how do you expect me to help you? How do you expect to get better?"

"I'm not really good at talking about feelings. Especially to a girl. Makes me look and feel wimpy." He said, a tiny smirk forming on his thin, pink, soft-looking lips.

"Talking about feelings does not make you wimpy! Especially when you're talking to a girl. You gain major points," I winked, "now, put your head in my lap so I can play with your hair while you tell me what's bothering you."
