I start running, but I'm not fast enough. They caught me.
"We'll rip you to shreds!"
"Please! Let me go!" I shout and struggle to move. "Stop!!"
"Mwhahaha- OUCH!" One of the wolves shouted. "We're gonna...ride the horses...all the way.....to Africa....ha ha..." The wolf collapsed.
"Ouch!" Another wolf collapsed. Then just like that, they all fall to the ground. I saw a shadow. A spiky shadow.
"Spike?"
"Yea yea yea, I know I said you were on ya own. But-"
"You truly care about me?"
"Wha? No! If I didn't save you, Don would'a killed me."
"Oh."
"I might care just a little." He smiled a tiny smile.
"You should come with me to Detroit!" I grab his little hand.
"Why? So I can always save you when you get in trouble?"
"No! Why would you think that?"
"Because I know that deep down you hate me."
"What? No I don't! But wait, how did your spikes kill people?"
"They don't kill. They put the victims to sleep for 20 minutes. That will give us a head start."
"Us?"
"Yup. I'll come with you."
"Oh my dog! Thank you! Let's go."
"Fine, but I have to warn you, I'm a little stubborn."
"A little?"
"Fine. Very." He laughed as he hopped on my back.
"You ready?"
"No, but let's go anyway."
