After a wonderfully indulgent afternoon of glorious pampering, I feel absolutely amazing. My feet have had a pedicure and polish. My nails have been buffed and painted. I've had a fantastic scalp and back massage. It was so relaxing; I actually nodded off at one point.
Now after a long soak in the bath and getting ready to an atmospheric chill out CD. I am most certainly ready for our evening of fabulous food, cocktails, and nearly naked waiters.
As if Lydia is able to read my mind, I hear her gently tapping on my door. "Jessica, it's only me," she softly speaks through the door.
I quickly answer it, standing beside the door with a pleased smile. "Are you ready as well?" I ask, allowing Lydia to saunter her way in.
"I am, but Katie is still doing her hair, which gives us a little head start." She reveals a lopsided smirk as she brandishes two miniature bottles of wine that she's obviously just taken from her room's mini bar.
I throw her a smirk back, watching her as she effortlessly glides across my room, wearing a celestial blue chiffon dress that delicately sweeps the floor behind her as she slowly walks in. Her short black hair is smooth and defined, with the cowl neck on her phenomenal dress showing off her slender and graceful neck.
Eyeing up my dearest friend with proud envy, I feel compelled to compliment her. "You look absolutely gorgeous, Lydia."
She cheekily puts her hand on her trim waist, shrugging just the one shoulder. "I know, darling," she cockily admits, ending such cockiness with a little giggle. Then her dark and delicious eyes rest on me. "You too, are looking rather divine this evening, Jessica."
I look down, brushing the sides of my mermaid floor-length dress in the palest of pearl grey. "I don't think I've ever wore this colour before," I tentatively reply, seeking Lydia's approval.
"Well, you should, my darling. It looks absolutely wonderful on you. I adore how you've done your hair, too."
I preen the back of my head, feeling fabulous with my sleekly done bun. "For such a lovely dress, I thought an up do would be the only thing to do it justice."
Lydia smiles, excitedly speaking. "Let's send a picture to both of our men." She grabs her tiny clutch bag, taking out her mobile. Then she pulls me against her cheek. "Now remember, Jessica. We need to do a naturally sexy pose, we want them drooling, not laughing at our pic," she warns me as she stiffens, ready to take the picture of us both.
Hearing the camera click sound, I eagerly look down at Lydia's phone. "Let's see then?" I ask, needing to check whether it's good enough to send to Jonny and Jake.
She lifts her phone, tapping on it to bring up the much-wanted picture. She studies it for just a moment. "It's perfect." She grins, turning the screen to show me the picture of me and her smiling and looking fabulously photogenic. "I'll just send this to both Jake and Jonny." She continues tapping away, the amused smile on her glossed-up lips increasing with each tap. "And it's sent!" she tells me with deep satisfaction.
I walk towards my mini bar, which is on the opposite side of the room, opening the small bottles of wine and pouring each one into the two waiting glasses that sit on top of it. "Here you go, lovely lady," I say, lifting the glass of wine and handing it to Lydia.
I watch her take it from me, bringing the wine slowly to her lips. "How are you now feeling about becoming Mrs. Carter in just a few weeks?" I ask, mirroring her actions of drinking some wine.
"I think my mini meltdown is now completely over, Jessica. I honestly can't wait for the big day now."
"Everyone has a wobble before they get married, Lydia. At least now, you've got yours well and truly out of the way. You can just show up on the day, look gorgeous, and simply enjoy every beautiful minute."
