Beneath the sheltering shade of the impressive oak trees that surround the woodland ceremony glade, we eagerly wait for the ceremony to begin. Within moments, the grand melodious strains of Wagner's, The Bridal Chorus, wonderfully greets our ears.

Lydia majestically stands at the top of the grassy aisle, with her graceful arm linked through her proud father's. With the music accompanying her, her beaming smile is almost as big as her grand entrance. Although all eyes are now very much on Lydia, I can't help but turn to watch Jake's reaction. He nervously waits beside his best man, looking completely beguiled by the woman he is about to marry. He sweetly looks lost for just a second, overcome by the beckoning vision of his gorgeous bride-to-be.

His captivated reaction momentarily stirs up my emotions. I have to bite down on my quivering lip, to prevent myself from crying before Lydia begins her graceful march down the aisle. Jonny looks across at me, knowing that I'm only seconds away from becoming a blubbering embarrassment. He affectionately reaches for my hand, as the whole congregation stands to welcome an illuminated Lydia. We are all completely transfixed on only her. With a congregational greeting of admiration and awe, she beautifully glides past us all with a strapped on smile. While she still has sole use of her birth given name, she's lapping up all of this attention in true Lydia Mason style.

Mesmerising is the only word to truly define how she looks in her stunning wedding dress. Her usually dramatic and heavily made-up eyes, are today, naturally beautiful with only a brushing of pale gold eyeshadow and a bay brown mascara coating her luscious lashes. A clear sweep of lipgloss glistens upon her shapely, smiling lips; completing her flawlessly serene look.

I feel like I'm about to burst with elated pride. God only knows how Lydia's mother must be holding up. With curiosity, I look for her. As predicted by Lydia, she is indeed, already snivelling into an embroidered handkerchief. I squeeze Jonny's hand. It's only his loving gaze that stops me from joining Lydia's mum. The same can't be said for Katie though, whose soft sobs have Jonny placing his comforting arm across her shoulder as well. Through her tears, she innocently looks up at him with an angelic but glassy-eyed swoon. My lips twitch with a faint smile. That's an Awww Moment, if ever I've seen one. Even when he's being sweetly chivalrous, he still manages to make hearts flit and flutter.

Lissy and Lottie are both standing on my left side; just like everyone else, their eyes are firmly fixed on the beautiful Lydia, who is now standing beside Jake. They stand shoulder to shoulder, until Jake quietly whispers into Lydia's ear, causing her to softly giggle. Once their private moment is over, the very sweet look that they exchange before turning to face the registrar simply melts my heart.

Being there to share with them their precious day means more than words can ever express. I honestly believed that Lydia would never marry, but something special happened on the day that she met Jake. I've been privileged enough to be there to watch their seed of love, grow and grow from the very beginning, and now here we all are; watching that love be bound with their wedding ceremony.

****

The whistles and cheers are carried on the summer breeze as both Mr. and Mrs. Carter walk back down the grassy aisle. As Lydia passes Jonny and I, her wicked brow arches boldly as she mouths, "I did it!"

Little does she know, a big surprise is awaiting them both inside of the impressive 18th century barn, where their wedding reception is to be held. It's only a short but scenic stroll away from the outside glade where their marriage was just performed.

It was down to myself and Katie to tell Lydia the very blatant but absolutely necessary lie, that the evening entertainment she had booked, had unfortunately double booked themselves and were unable to fulfil their obligation to her. After a brief Lydia Mason meltdown, we reassured her not to worry, that we would sort it all out. I know she is going to absolutely freak when she realises that her opening act is the hugely talented, Ed Sheeran, then she'll more than likely kill Katie and I for lying to her!
