“Donny? Hey Don, where are you?” Kylee came down carefully into the turtle’s lair. It had been nineteen years already since Raph disappeared on the night of bloody snow. Kylee was feeling her age in the cold weather, she was so stiff she couldn’t bare it. Kylee had always said grow old with grace, she’d never really cared about age. And now, at forty-five, she still lived by that rule, though it still sucks. She and Becca still looked pretty good for their age, the boys looked a older too. “Yo Don, say bananas if ya can hear me!” Kylee called, walking in and looking around.

“What’s with you and bananas?” She heard from the work shop. She chuckled, “It’s a funny word.” Kylee made her way to the garage and saw two turtle feet from under the van. What was he upgrading now? Or…then again that machine was old, what was he fixing? Kylee rolled her eyes good humouredly and swatted beside him. “So what’s with you and this old rust bucket?” She teased, tapping the side of it with her knuckles. Donny rolled out from underneath, covered in grease and oil. He smiled, “I happen to be very attached to this ol’ girl ya know.” He patted the Tortuga bros van lovingly. Kylee grabbed his end and gave him a noogie.

“I should hope she’s not the only old lady you’re fond of.” She laughed. Kylee laughed a lot when she was around Don, and even more so when Don, Leo, and Becca were around. OH! Not to forget Tiffany too. That twelve year old was so much like her mom. It was funny how much they were alike, seeing as Tiff was adopted. “Okay Donny boy, what ya need?” Kylee said walking over to the tool box. She always was found helping Don with his projects, and now just went to work, knowing Don would use her however he could. “Throw me that monkey wrench will ya?”  He said, holding his hands out. Kylee found the wrench and tossed it. Donny disappeared back under the van.

“Don’t you have work today? What’cha doing down here.”

“I took a day off; the other nurses can handle a day without me. I just wanted to hang around here if that’s okay with you.”

“Sure, could always use a little company as long as it’s not breathing down my neck. Hey, did’ja drop off that package at his place yet?”

“Yeah. He was in the middle of his morning class so I just left it in his office.”

“It’s pretty cool he opened his own dojo. I think it helps him feel closer to Splinter and the rest of us, ya know?”

“Yeah, and he’s a really good sensei too. His students really do well.”

“Hey, toss me the wrench.” Don’s hand popped out from under the truck and caught the wrench, disappearing again. “I’m just glad those bracelets still work. How many years has it been since we made those?”

“Twenty years ago. And hey, when ya buy from D&K co. you get a life time warrantee, don’t cha know?”

Don laughed, and Kylee laughed too. “D&K Company? Geeze, ya think we’re running a business here?”

“With all the crazy projects we do? Why not?” Kylee joked

“Yeah, change your form bands and go into ones subconscious chairs. That’ll sell alright.”

“People like crazy products, Donny.”

“I think we should wait a hundred years or so before we put our stuff on the market.”

Donny rolled out from under the van, stood up and grabbed a rag, beginning to clean his hands on it. Kylee laughed at the genius in the wrong age, and Don looked at her, perplexed. “Now what are you laughing at?” He asked. Kylee went to a silent giggle and put her hands in between her legs on the metal stool she was sitting on. “Nuh’n. I was just thinkin’ bout the poor scientist stuck in the wrong time. Luckily he’ll live to be hopefully old enough to see that age and make a name for himself.”
