Back to New York! (2nd)

Another year went by. Raph and Kylee got along pretty well, on occasion you could hear them screaming at each other down the tunnels. Life went on. With Kylee in the sewer system; she and Leo got the boys back into shape while Becca gently started training her daughter. Lena liked being a ninja. Now she was just like daddy, Uncle Donny, Uncle Leo, Uncle Raphie and Aunt Kylee. Nothing changed between Kylee or Raph. They weren’t passionate lovers most of the time, more like two hot headed friends.

Kylee still had private training sessions with Donny, forcing him to progress and remember what Splinter had taught him. Raph still went out and hung around with Casey and Erin (who was now sixteen). Quinn, Kylee, and Donny were almost always in the lab, working on some insidious project that would probably never be known to the upper world. Kylee occasionally slipped that Donny should start his own science geek company, whenever Quinn heard this she’d agree and say that there was nothing she’d like more than to work as a intern there until she could actually get a job.

Donny kept saying it was impossible, blushing and laughing at the thought. Kylee and Quinn would try to remind him of the bracelets, but he kept thinking it was a bad idea. Kylee’d slap him on the back of his big head, and Quinn would sigh, cringing quickly when her aunt would do that. Quinn had always known that Kylee had always been more like her Uncle Raphael and father, but did she have to be so brutal?

Kylee woke up tucked under Raphael’s strong arm. She smiled sleepily, still not believing she was a wife, scared that she’d wake up any moment as a kid again, passed out from a sugar rush and sleeping on Becca. Kylee slipped out of bed, got dressed, and went to the kitchen. She started a pot of coffee for Raph and made some hot chocolate for herself. The morning business went on, Kylee made breakfast, cleaned up a little bit, ate, and settled down to watch a little TV before she headed over to Don’s.

“Hey babe.” Raph yawned, stretching and coming out of the bedroom. Kylee smiled over the couch at Raph, he smiled at her sleepily. “Coffee’s ready for ya and there are some eggs in the oven waiting for ya.” She said, looking at the clock, getting off the throne and heading toward the door.

“Where you goin?”

“Over ta Don’s, we’re workin’ on an adjustment for the bracelets, see ya Raph”

“Bye”

Kylee waved at the turtle and left.  She walked down the sewer system happily and saw Becca and Lena in the training room, practicing balance. Kylee chuckled and waved, the two waved back and Lena lost her balance, falling backwards and landing on her back.

“Hey Donny.” Kylee said cheerily, walking into the geek cave. Donny turned off his blow torch, flipped up his mask, and turned away from the van to his friend. He waved and jumped off his stool, walking over to her. “Hey Kylee, ready to-you okay?”

“Hmm? Yeah I’m fine. Why?”

“You just look…tired. You get any sleep last night?”

“Yes…I’ve just been feeling a little under the weather is all, that’s probably why.”

“Well then sit on my desk Mrs. Hamato and let me have a look at you” Donny eyed her playfully, laughing

“Yes sir, Doctor Hamato sir” Kylee laughed alongside him, hoisting herself up on the table. The two chuckled to one another as Donny checked Kylee over. They joked and talked as he went about business. But Donny stopped up short while he was using the stethoscope. He listened closely and then stumbled to his phone, dialing a number. What, did he remember he needed to make a call?
