Chapter 2. Could it get any more embrassing

“Hi. So you’re Adrina, Nice to finally meet you” said Caden eyeing me up and down and holding his hand for me. I shook his hand and rolling my eyes I said, “Yeah, same here.” How dare he check me out in front of our parents. He is a complete jerk.

“So may I take a seat?” asked Caden raising his eyebrow. Before I could reply my mother said, “Please do and get comfortable. I’m Adrina’s mother, but you call me Lily.”

“Sure Lily and thank you,” he said to my mom. She nods to him with great smile in her face. After few minutes it was time for dinner so we all went to the dinner table and took our seats. Mom insists that Caden sits next to me so, here I’m sitting beside Caden and having an uncomfortable dinner, while everyone else was chatting and laughing. Time to time my mom was giving me the looks, whenever I caught her eyes, I would retaliate with my death glares.

The dinner was finished as everyone was trying to head for the living room. My mom voice stopped us by saying, “Adrina, why don’t you show Caden around the house?” I froze in my state unable to speak, I just nodded.

 Caden and I headed upstairs. Downstairs was our living room, kitchen, dining hall (which he already got to see) and the game room, which I didn't find all that appealing. I don’t go there usually, except to call my brother when he was living here and I didn’t feel the need to show him.   I assumed he had his own, considering he is a guy.

 So we went upstairs where there were four rooms. One is for my parents, One for my brother when he comes to visit, mine, and one more room which is a spare room used by any guest who arrives to visit our family.

Our house is two stories, and pure white in color with a dark blue rooftop. After showing him the other rooms it was finally time for my room and I was slightly uncomfortable as I don’t have any close guy friends and this is first time to show my room to any other guy beside my family.  Although my room was all clean. Usually my room is a mess it’s not like every day but in every three days I need to clean my room. If any visitor came in middle of those days they don’t like to come inside but somehow I love my room and love to be there all the time.

I was in my own world when I heard this male voice beside me, making me yelp. I realized it was still with Caden and he chuckled and said, “Now it’s your room this time,” blushing I nod and open the door of my room and said, “Yes,” and entered the room.  It was painted dark cyan with a queen-size bed, my closet, a study desk near my bed, a bathroom, and my favorite place where I spend most of the time, the terrace attached to my room.

Finally I spoke, “Last but not the least this is my room,” and sat down on my bed after a while Caden also sat beside me. He was thinking deeply, I don’t know about what but there was a scowl in his face the entire time he was thinking.

“Are you done checking me out?”  He asked me with a smirked. My face flushed and I started to say, “Umm…” but nothing came out from my mouth.

“That’s ok, no one can resist this handsome face,” his smirk grew larger.

“Whatever makes you sleep at night,” I said with sarcasm.

He started again, “It’s ok to admire my beauty you know.” But suddenly both our heads snapped at dark blue material sneaking from under my study table before I could grab it Caden suddenly start to pick it up from under the table. He looked at my bra, facing me, making me go beetroot red.

I jump up from my seat and grabbed by bra, which was hanging in his hand and ran directly to my bathroom and made sure to lock it. While watching the bra in my hand, I start to cuss at myself. I have been searching for this for a long time, as it was lost in my mess of clothes and it has to be found by the guy that is going to be my freaking husband, with whom I just met after 15 years of time.

To my dismay, I heard some chuckling behind the door, which made me more flushed. I just sighed and sat on my bathroom floor for some time, till I realized my original color came back to my face.

After few minutes I step out of bathroom and saw Caden sitting in same position but his face has a scowl, which shows like he wanted to say something to me but can’t quite figure out how to say it.

When he figures out I was there he smirk again and said, “Nice place to keep your private things.” That made me flush again. What is with me today, with this stupid flush and embarrassing moment? Today is the worst day of my life. “By the way I like your color choice too,” he added again which make me want to cover my face and scream out loud.

Standing for a while I started to play with my clothing material and in the mean time I clear my throat and said, “I think we should go downstairs.” He tries to say something to which I raise my eyebrow. His mouth was open he closed it and said, “Alright lets go.”

After we both went downstairs our parents were in a heated conversation. As soon as they heard us they snapped their heads towards us and grinned from ear to ear which brought a big scowl on my face. What did they think we were doing upstairs?

“So how was the tour guy, anything interesting upstairs?” said my mother in mischievous glint in her eyes, which earned another scowl from my face, while the others just chuckled.

“Nice house Lily. Not so interesting,” said Caden. Before I could say anything my mom smiled and said, “Oh! And thank you! Son you are free to come here anytime.”

“Sure thing lily,” said Caden. Looking at his watch he turned toward Betty and said, “Mom, Dad I think we should leave it’s getting late.” His parents nod their head and stand up and said goodbye to all of us. When we escort them to porch, they all thank mom for dinner and head for their car and before that Betty sneaks to my mom and said something to her which I could not catch but my mom just nodded in response.

After that I went straight to my room remembering that little incidents make my cheeks start to burn. With a sigh I went to the bathroom, took off my makeup, changed to my pajamas, and fell to my bed. Trying to forget the embarrassment that I faced today I fall in sleep.
