Chapter 20. I'm doing this for us

When I found who is standing in front of me took my breath away. He was leaning in his car giving me his breath taking smile, which make me smile in return.

I reach to him and asked “why are you here?” He put my strand of hair behind my ear and whisper in my ear “I’ll not let you deal all my best friend confession and shit alone, do I”

His breath tickling my skin and I try to say “But…” Suddenly he turned me around so my back was pressed against his back. “Sssh…” he put his finger on my lips shutting me. “I’m not letting you go by yourself to deal with their problem. Got it” he again whispers in my ear but his tone was lot harsher.

I nod my head not wanting to argue as even he didn’t come it would have been ok. Caden came to Nolan’s side they did their man’s hug or whatever.

Nolan gives him only side hug as his one hand was on my waist. “Whats up man” Nolan asks Caden. “Everything good till now. But don’t know after today” he answer Nolan scratching his forehead with thump.

“Don’t worry everything gonna be fine” Nolan say patting Caden’s shoulder. “Hope so” Caden replied with uncertainty in his voice. Nolan shook his head doing their eye communication they always do whenever they talk.

“So how you feeling, Macy” Nolan asks Macy who was standing next to Caden. “Fine and you” she asks Nolan wiggling her eyebrows. 

“Me … you can see perfectly fine” he said to Macy giving her lopsided smirk. “Yeah I can see” she replied with her own smirk.

This time I ask her “What do you mean?” But she just shrugs off her shoulder. I glare at her but she ignores me.

“May be she is jealous that her crush is holding you now” he said cockily. “Crush…” I asked Nolan as what he means.

But I got answer from Macy “Don’t believe him Adri. He is just faking” glaring at Nolan. I took a look at Nolan who has smugness in his face.

I raised one eyebrow at him ‘saying what did it mean’ with my looks. He chuckle and said “Nothing much that I found her sneaking in my room and talking with my photo”

“I didn’t do that” Macy protested her cheeks were tinted pink. “Don’t try to deny it, kiddo” Nolan said with confidence to her.  “You are so full of yourself. I never see you like that” Macy said crossing her arms around her chest. “Really I think Ray would answer my question” Nolan said taking out his phone challenging Macy.  “Don’t you dare” Macy said angrily pointing her finger at Nolan.

“Stop being child you both. We have bigger problem than proving Macy has crush you or not” Caden suddenly burst angrily.

“Sorry mate I was just kidding” Nolan said raising his both hands in surrender. “See” Macy said amused poking her tongue at Nolan and snuggling closer to Caden. “So childish” Nolan said ruffling Macy’s hairs, she just jerks his hand from her hair.

Nolan chuckle at her action and intertwined our finger making our way to his car “Let’s go and finish this crap” he said to Caden on the way. I see Caden nodding at him and opening his car’s front seat.

While fastening my seatbelt I took a long breath and said “Let’s get it over with” particularly to myself. “You don’t have to do it. If you don’t want to” Nolan said taking my hand in his.

“No I want to help Caden with it and beside, we two were suppose to marry so I have to do this” I said determined giving him a smile. He took a long breath and said “Ok as you wish. But if you feel like you don’t want then make sure you tell me so we could leave. I’ll talk to Caden” and I nod.

After few minutes of silence, I asked Nolan remembering his and Macy argument “How Macy was in your room and talking to your photo?” facing Nolan who was driving to Caden’s apartment.

He was startled by question “Umm…” he trail off. Suddenly he remembers and said “Oh! That, you know Macy is my neighbor right” I nod my head ‘yes’ so he continue “She is also Ray’s best friend so she usually come to our house” he finished.

“Oh! So Ray is your, that sister I helped you to get her birthday present” I asked finally getting him. “Yep Ray is that sister, you help me with her birthday present in that mart when you fell on top of me” he said coyly.

I just blush and turn to opposite side of him. “Don’t be shy. I love you being on top of me” he said again in a sardonic manner. “Stop it” I said putting my both hands on face to hide by face as it has become so hot and red.

“Oh Common I’m just saying about the position. Are you thinking about some other things?” he said wiggling his eyebrow. “Shut up pervert!” I shout at him. “You were thinking like that and how can be pervert here” he said arching his eyebrow.

I didn’t comment at him just ignore him so I could hide my blushing face which is getting hotter after his previous remark. When he stops the car at traffic night which is just minute after his little comment, “Don’t you face especially when blush because this red color make you sexier. And it also show I can affect you this much” he said pulling my face toward him.

I look at him in his and I can see so much adoration and glint in his eyes. “Don’t you ever turn away from me” he said in a stern voice and I just nod my head. As he was leaning toward me for a kiss but it was disrupted by honking of the car behind us.

“Shit” he said angrily and drove the car in fast motion.  After that both of us were silence. The car came to stop at parking lot of Caden’s apartment.

When Nolan was trying to unbuckle his seatbelt I stopped him saying “I think it’ll be better if you don’t go with us”

“No I’m coming with you. I can’t let you handle it alone” he said and shook his head. “I’m doing this for us. So that we can be together, Macy and Caden could be together. And if you come with us it create other problem” I plead him with my eyes.

“But…” he tries to defend but could form a word after that. “So let me go, you go home and have some rest. I’ll call you after this ordeal” I reassure him taking his hand on mine. “I’ll be waiting for you here” he said in Pevely.

“I don’t know how long it’ll take and I don’t want you to wait here alone” I try to reason him. But he just shook his head “I don’t care how long I’ll have to wait for you. And that’s final. “You are impossible” I rolled my eyes and try to open the car door but Nolan grab my hand pulled me to him and crash is lips to mine. All his aggression could be found in his kiss and he is kissing me wildly as if it could be our last kiss.

He let me go from the kiss panting and said “I’ll be here when you are done.” I try to say go but do opposite of that by just nodding my head as I know how much of stubborn he is.

I find both Macy and Caben holding hands and nervous as they give me their nervous smile when they see me.

“Nolan is not coming” I informed them. Caden nods and said “Let’s go.” We three went to the elevator and he presses the button of his apartment. Getting out of the elevator we went toward Caden’s apartment door and I press the door bell with shaking hand.

After few minutes the door of the apartment opened to reveal Caden’s mom smiling at us.
