Waking and Weeping
Part Two"What's going on?" Mason asked cautiously. My heart was beating so fast, I felt like everyone in the room could hear it.
"The doctor just came and told us that you can go home later today, Mason," mom said with a weak smile.
"Which is good," Barbara interjected, "because you have a lot of packing to do."
I knew this was going to happen the moment that woman appeared on our doorstep. "What? Why?" Mason demanded.
"You're moving back to England with me," she explained. "This latest suicide attempt has proven that Mrs Jones cannot look after you the way you need to be looked after. She and I have agreed that it would be in your best interest for you to move in with me."
Mason looked like he couldn't believe what he was hearing. "No, you don't understand-"
"No, Mason you don't understand," mom said. "I can't be at home often enough to keep an eye on you and make sure nothing like this happens again."
"Well, Lina can-"
"That responsibility should not have to fall on Rosaline, Mason," Barbara reasoned. It was obvious that neither Mason or I wanted him to go, but the adults were right. It was for the best.
Eventually, they managed to make enough reasonable arguments to convince Mason not only that it was beneficial to his health but also that he didn't have a choice.
He was leaving.

"I'm going to miss you, Lina," he whispered in my ear the next morning as I hugged him goodbye. There were tears in both of our eyes and my chest was aching.
I would most likely never see this boy again and my heart couldn't bear the thought. Not when I'd come to love him.
It was true. We may not have even said the fact that we liked each other aloud, but I knew I loved him. It was why, as he grabbed his sports bag and turned to leave, I called his name and ran to him.
It was why, even though we hadn't even said the fact that we liked each other aloud, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his.
I could feel his surprise in the way he hesitated. The adults were watching but I didn't care. And neither did Mason it seemed, as he returned my kiss with equal passion and held me tightly, arms around my waist.
I was crying silently now, knowing this was the last time I'd ever see him. The last time I'd get to hold him. The only time I'd get to kiss him.
When we pulled out of the kiss, we were both out of breath and I tried to convey with my eyes everything I didn't have time to say. Mason just nodded and whispered, "I know. I know, Lina."
And then he was gone . . .
Hey, guys! This is it! That's the end! It's over . . . The sequel is called Living Without Mr Mysterious and it should be up by the end of the day! I thank you all, whoever has stuck with Mason and Rosaline until the temporary end and I hope you've fallen in love with them the way I have. I love you all and I will see you in the sequel! <3
