Rachael was walking through the dark, her arms wrapped around herself as she made her way towards Brendon's house. She turned left and began up the walkway, however, not reaching the door before something appeared in her way.
"Don't scream," The person preventing her from moving whispered, putting their finger up to Rachael's lips. The witch just stared at the person before her with wide eyes. The person lowered their finger and smirked, their fangs glowing in the light of the moon. "I don't want you to cause a scene."
"Why would I cause a scene?" The witch replied, her voice in an unnecessary whisper.
"Well you and I aren't on the greatest of terms right now, Rach. And if I recall correctly, the first time we met, you shot holy water at me in an attempt to keep me away. I just don't want a repeat of the past, you know?"
A blush crept up in her cheeks before she asked, "What do you want, Patrick?"
"You and I need to talk. But can we take it inside? I don't feel safe talking about it out here, where someone can hear me," He explained, looking around, paranoid.
"Yeah, sure," Rachael retorted, brushing past her ex-boyfriend and walking up the steps. He followed after her and the two of them entered the house, seeing Natalie sitting on the couch, the television remote in one hand as she flipped through the channels and a bottle of vodka in the other. Her eyes traveled over to the two and she chuckled.
"Wow, Patrick, you look like shit."
The vampire adjusted his jacket. "Nice to see you too, Nat."
"Come on," Rachael muttered, grabbing Patrick's hand and guiding him forward, "Let's go somewhere private."
"Ooh, somewhere private," Natalie cooed in a teasing manner, "You two better not do anything Mom and Dad wouldn't approve of. I might just have to tell on you."
"Oh grow up," The older of the two witches mumbled, unamused. She guided the vampire upstairs and into Brendon's bedroom, the only room up there with a lock. The witch turned it and spun around to face Patrick who'd wandered over to the nightstand and picked up the photograph of Brendon and Rachael. "So...what did you want to talk about that you couldn't talk about in front of anyone else?"
"I need your help," He murmured, setting the photo frame back down and turning around to face her, "That demon's running wild and turning anyone and everyone he can into his minions. The only way to stop him is if we get everyone together, and by everyone, I mean vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards, everyone. I was hoping maybe you could somehow convince your kind to help join the cause."
Rachael chuckled. "That's what you came here for? To ask me that?"
"It's the only way, Rach," He tried to convince her, walking up to her and grabbing onto her upper arms, "And I know you can do it. You're perfect for it. You know a lot of people, a lot of people know you, and they respect you."
"Respect me? No one respects me, Patrick." Gabe's words rang in her ears, causing her to tilt her head down. "I'm a fucking joke. We both are."
"Don't say that. We've done a lot in this world, and if we do this, we'll be making a huge difference for everyone in this town."
"The only thing we've done in this world is bring in a monster."
"Look, Rachael, Kenya is depending on us to bring these people together, and I think it's a part of her secret plan. So we have to do this," He tried to change her mind. From the looks of it, though, Rachael wasn't convinced, so he rubbed soothing circles on the witch's shoulder. "If not for us or for Kenya, then do this for our daughter. Think about her future."
