Patrick paced back and forth inside of his house, rubbing his hands nervously and waiting for the people he invited over to arrive. His heart nearly stopped when he heard the doorbell ring, jumping at the sound and immediately answering the door. The vampire pulled the door open to reveal the faction leaders in New Orleans, Lily, the supreme of the coven, Bruno, representing the wolves, and Harrison, acting as the leader for the humans.
"Hi guys," He greeted as kindly as he could manage, "Come on in. Thanks for coming on such short notice."
"Thanks for calling us," Lily replied kindly before entering the home. Harrison grinned and followed after her, Bruno doing the same, however, instead of a grin, he wore a frown. Patrick closed the door behind the three of them and spun around. "So you mentioned a treaty...?"
"Yes," He agreed, stepping forward and joining them in the center of the foyer, "I'm sure you're all aware of the demon infestation New Orleans has been dealing with over the past few days."
"You guys are really pushing it," Harrison replied, crossing his arms over his chest, "First it was you and now it's demons. Patrick, the agreement I made with Kenya is that you all live in peace and under the radar, but with this thing on the loose, there are questions being asked. People are going missing, and humans are starting to take notice. They're getting suspicious. When is this madness going to end?"
"Hopefully soon," The vampire assured him, "We all just need to work together, and the best way to do that is if we sign a treaty."
"A treaty?" Bruno repeated, "How's a treaty going to solve this problem?"
"I'm not sure. It was Kenya's idea in the first place."
"What will this treaty do?" Lily inquired, "And if we do sign this treaty, what do we get out of it?"
"What do you want?" Patrick was played along, thinking that, if this was the quickest way to completing the task given, then what was the harm?
"I want you to pay for all the damage you've done to our city," Harrison immediately answered. This man and his family were well known to the entire paranormal community. His folks owned most of the town and were greedy sons of bitches. "I know you've got the money, it's the least you can do to repay us for all we've had to do to keep your cover."
The singer nodded his head slowly. "Okay, I-I suppose I can do that."
"The witches want more territory in the French Quarter, and I personally want you to get Bruno, here, to let Brendon go," Lily chimed in, looking over at Bruno, "He's a wizard just like anyone else and the wolves holding him hostage is unfair and a waste of everyone's time and efforts."
"Easy enough, right, Bruno?" Patrick nodded, but the alpha wolf rolled his eyes.
Bruno scoffed. "That's not going to happen. Lily, he is a danger to us, and he needs to be under surveillance."
"He's no more of a danger than Rachael is, yet you allow her to roam freely," Lily argued, placing her hands on her hips, "Why is that?"
"Because she knows better than to act out again," Bruno defended his actions, "Brendon on the other hand? Doesn't. That's why."
"Guys, come on," The vampire interjected, "Let's not fight. We're supposed to be coming together, not growing farther apart."
"You know what I want?" Bruno snapped, turning his attention to him, "I want you and Rachael to get out of this town. Once this whole demon situation is over with, I want you to take Brendon and Halsey with you and I don't want you guys to ever come back. I don't want Kenya remembering who you are, in fact, I don't want anyone remembering who you are. Because all you've done is cause trouble here and I'm tired of dealing with your guys' shit."
"You and I both know that I can't leave town." Patrick wasn't willing to abandon his clan. It was the responsibility he was given and he wasn't going to ignore it.
"Oh really? Because you did it once before; I'm almost positive you can do it again. And you don't need to worry about your clan because they don't even like you. They'd be glad to get a new clan leader."
"Wow, being mate-less sure does turn one bitter." Harrison smirked while wiggling his eyebrows in a playful manner.
"He's in love, and you're nothing but a greedy rat." Lily accused.
"Well you're no better!" The human exclaimed, "The only witches and wizards you care about are the ones directly related to you! At least I care about all my people."
"Oh please, the only thing you care about is how much money this community can give you." Bruno joined in.
"And if I only cared about my people, then I wouldn't be fighting to save Brendon from the mutts."
"Watch it, witch," The wolf snapped while standing and Lily rose out of her seat.
"I don't have to watch anything. I am sick and tired of being bossed around by a pack of dogs!" She screamed. Bruno growled while clenching his fists. "You, your pack, and Kenya are what's wrong with this town. I have a feeling that you're the ones who caused this demon outbreak. Not these band of idiots." She nodded toward Patrick.
"Guys!" The singer cried, "Please, stop!" The leaders continued their argument, the distance between them growing shorter and shorter, their voices getting louder and louder. "STOP!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, silencing them all immediately. "Get out of my house," He told them, fed up with their fighting, "All of you, now."
"What about the treaty?" Lily questioned.
"I'll work on it, I promise. But right now? You all need to get out of here, or we'll all kill each other and a whole new problem will arise. And I'm almost positive that none of us want another problem to deal with." A blanket of silence fell over the four of them, the lack of words proving his beliefs. "I'll send people to each faction to give you word on the development of the treaty. Okay?"
"Patrick-" Harrison began, only to be cut off when the vampire raised his hand.
"Please, just go," He muttered, pointing to the door.
