Darkness is the first thing I remember in my life; I was always in darkness and I grew to understand its mystery's and pleasures. I liked it, nothing bothered me there, and I was always alone I never had to deal with anything or anyone. I was silent as the night, grew extremely agile, I honed in my senses for any disturbance I could find at all during my time alone. I taught myself how to fight anything that came my way, for there were some creatures daring enough to test their strength against me. I loved every day of it, then all of the sudden everything changed and I was no longer alone in the darkness. I was found and brought into the light of the day and taken to a faraway place, the people around me were strange and told me nothing about any of the questions that I asked.
I decided that it was no use asking repeatedly for I knew I wouldn't get any answers out of them. Though frankly I was glad that they didn't talk much except for maybe a word or two because I wasn't used to being around other creatures that looked like them. They never really let me out of their sight though, I wasn't allowed any more than twenty feet away from them, and I always had to be in sight to. We walked long enough that I lost count of the days and got used to the routine of everything, walk till a couple hours past sundown, wake up at the break of dawn, walk some more, eat when there was a food source nearby, drink when a stream came into view, and keep walking.
After what I may have thought was a couple of months of that routine we arrived at a valley, the creatures stopped walking called out something far into the distance and turned right back around and started walking again. By sundown we had reached a mountain range and I was quite happy because when it was dark I felt at home (if you call living in a dark cave in the middle of a deep dark, depressing, and strange forest a home). I was woken up by a strange sound a few hours before daybreak and slowly sat up from where I was sleeping. My eyes searched throughout the darkness to find the source of the sound, I looked at the dim flames of the fire and saw no trace of the creatures who I had been traveling with, startled I looked around and saw something slightly move in one of the trees around me. Noticing the slight movement, I prepared myself for whatever came my way, the sound of an arrow being set on a bow caught my attention, I stood up and waited for what I knew was coming, it was of no use to run for the arrow would fly faster than I could run and there was probably an ambush set up in every direction I could run. I closed my eyes and waited for death to come upon me; nothing happened, opening my eyes I said, "If you are going to kill me why not do it now, I know what is to come and I do not fear death. Since you are planning to kill me, why do you plan on ending my life in hiding? Cowards are what you are, come out and kill me face to face, and let it be a fair fight!"
Time passed and something came out of the shadow of a tree, I watched it carefully trying my hardest to predict its next move. The creature said, "You have spoken words of a warrior and I acknowledge your skill, you do not seem to be weak or helpless even without a weapon at your side. What are you called?" Taken back by the calmness of this creatures voice that showed no hate or anger I replied, "I have no name for I was ever given one, I do not wish to cause harm to you or anyone else for that matter. I lived in complete darkness ever since I can remember and have only relied on myself. I was taken from where my home was by the other creatures that I was traveling with. If I may ask what and who are you? For I have never seen creatures like you in my lifetime." I shouldn't say more than needed for I still do not know if they mean me harm or peace. The creature looked stunned as it stood before me, it took to it's original posture and said, "I am Haradock, a warrior for my clan, I am human as I assume you are as well." "Thank you Haradock I am grateful for what you have told me."
