23: you promised

Jazmin's POV

After Christopher and I were talking about our childhood together, I realized that Erick was probably still in my room.

"Chris I'm going to my room." I said.

"Alright I'm gonna go call Kenia. I told her to leave but, she was cool about it don't worry." He said.

"Alright" i said as I was getting up. I opened the screen door that led to the kitchen. I grabbed a water from the fridge and walked up stairs.

I got to my room and slowly opened the door. I smiled at the sight. Erick only had his jeans on, no shirt, and he was sleeping on my bed. I quietly went to one of my drawers to get my clothes and changed in the bathroom.

Once I was changed, I got a blanket and put it over Erick. I crawled under the covers next to him. I stared at him for a while, admiring his features. His eyes still looked puffy, like if he cried even more when I left. I then dozed off.

I woke up to a text message. From Joel. A voice startled me when it said, "Who is it?"

"Erick!" I might have said to loud. I squished his cheeks and kissed him. He smiled. "Who is it?" He asked again. "I-It's Joel." I stuttered. "I never liked him you know." He informed me. "We're gonna hang out today." I said quietly.

"Well he better back the fuck off." He said as his jaw clenched. "We're just hanging out chill. Nothing will happen. I promise" I said. "Fine. What time are you guys gonna 'hang out'" he asked. "I'm not sure." "Well I'll leave you to get ready. I love you." He kissed my forehead and left the room.

Joel😘: hey, what time do you want me to pick you up?😉

J: um... is 3 fine?

Joel😘: perfect😏

J: okay then

Perfect. Why would he say that? And Joel never uses emojis like that with me. Weird.

I took a quick shower and started getting my outfit ready.

I ended up with black leggings, black and white striped shirt, and a jean jacket.

I went downstairs to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal. Christopher was already down here. "Hey Chris" I smiled.

He turned towards me and looked at me up and down, "Aren't you gonna be hot in that jacket? It's like 90 degrees outside!"

"I know but, I don't think I-I'm r-ready." I stuttered trying not to tear up.

"Oh..." his voice trailed of. "It's okay sis. Whenever you're ready." He pulled me into a hug. I hugged him harder.

"Hey back off my girlfriend." Erick said playfully.

Chris turned us around to face him, still in a hug, and said, "Back off my sister cause she's mine." He kissed my temple.

"Alrighty guys I have to go."

"No!" "Stay!" "Don't leave!" Both Chris and Erick said.

"I have to! I'm gonna hang out with Joel." I said.

"I don't like this Joel guy."

"Don't worry Erick. Nothing will happen."

"Okay." He pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead and said, "Be safe okay?" I looked up at him, since he was way taller than me, "okay"

I was on the porch browsing through Instagram when I heard a honk. Joel, I thought. I looked up and I saw Joel in his car looking my way. I got up and walked towards his car. I opened the door and got in.

"Hey cutie." He said.

I felt my cheeks get instantly hot. He never does this. What's up with him lately? "H-Hi"

"We're going to the park."

"Alright."

In the middle of the car ride he put his hand on my thigh. I got stuff to his touch. This doesn't feel right.

Once we arrived at the park we sat in a bench.

"You look really beautiful today Jazmin." Joel said.

"I-Um thanks."

I felt his lips touch mine. I pulled away. "I'm sorry but, i-I'm dating
Erick now."  "Don't worry, he'll never find out" he smirked.

He pulled into another kiss.

"I thought you said nothing will happen." I heard that same raspy voice.

I quickly got up and said, "Erick this is not what it looks like! I swear!" My voice cracked.

"No! You promised nothing will happen! But look!" He yelled at me.

"I'm sorry!" I said, now sobbing.

"No. We're over." He said.

I ran. I ran and ran until I got home.

As I was running up the stairs Chris said something but i was not in the mood. I locked myself and cried and cried till I had no tears left, and soon, fell asleep....
