Before you guys read this chapter, there are two- to three things I've changed in the 5th chapter. So.. please read that first. Thanks.

Sam, Avery, Olivia, Liam, Mason, April, Noah, Annora were my squad. We were known to the other kids as "Popular" "Bad kids" or the "Rule breakers". I mean, yeah we do break rules, because sometimes following everything that is told to us isn't the way we prove how disciplined we are. Sometimes it is all about doing things differently, in your own way, and we believed in that. No matter what others say about us, it was always about our happiness that really mattered. The way we wanted to remember things before going to college.
"Meet you guys at the cafeteria at exactly eleven o' four." April announced as we all broke apart to our own ways.
Annora and I headed towards our lockers, with Noah running in front of us to catch up with his girlfriend, Kiera.
Nora chuckled lightly near me and I looked at her. She replaced it with a cough and smiled. I held her shoulders and lead the way. She was surprised, I guess, because her body stiffened for a second before leaning on to me.
"Who are they?" Annora asked pointing at four kids who were leaning on the wall opposite to our class.
I shrugged. "Lola, her boyfriend Mark, Simon and Alex"
"Oh, well... where is Zaira?" she asked.
Lola and Mark were pretty popular around school because literally everyone knew they were perfect for each other. When they finally started dating, the news had spread like wildfire. They were really nice, I mean everyone liked Lola. Mark and Simon were cousins. And Zaira was Lola's best friend who had a total obvious crush on Simon. Alex was the new kid, but I don't know, I didn't want to judge or anything... but there was something that was off about her.
I hadn't seen Zaira for a few days now... we had psychology and some other classes together and we used to talk and stuff.
I looked at Nora, her face was etched with confusion and concern. "I don't get it... it's been days since I have seen Zai..."
Zai? She gave her a nickname? How close were they?
"Um... you talk to her?" I asked.
"Yeah... I mean we have English with her and she's good company." She said. "I'll be right back"
I watched as she walked over to them. I followed behind her.
"Hey..." Lola greeted with her usual pleasant smile.
"Hi" I said and gave Mark a high five. I looked at Simon, who was lost in his own world so didn't disturb him in anyway.
"Where is Zaira? I mean, it's been so long..." Annora asked Lola. "I don't have her number, is she okay?"
"Yeah, she is okay." Lola answered. "I mean she had gone missing a few days back and got a bullet in her shoulder and still managed to survive... she's home, resting."
"Oh... tell her I asked for her."
Lola nodded and smiled. "I'll give you her number."
"Thanks."
-
"Sammy!!" Nora screamed dragging the 'y'.
"Yeah Ann?" Sam asked, looking up from his book.
They got engaged in a conversation about some random beach and places while I lost interest. I looked over at Noah, who was too busy playing with Kiera's hair while she was talking to one of her girl friends. I sighed, and looked over at April. She was sitting there completely interested on her desk while some girl I didn't know kept on talking without a stop. I went over.
"Hey" I said, interrupting the one side conversation about a dress and how it could be put on with any colour or something. April looked at me, silently thanking me for saving her from a time consuming talk about dresses.
I would understand, April didn't care about heels or matching outfits. She was all about being herself, she mix and matched, wore what was more 'comfortable' than fashionable, unlike Olivia who loved the perfect clothes at the perfect time. Avery always took Sam whenever she went shopping, he complains about it all the time. He never cares about what she wants and says 'Good' 'Alright' 'suits you' simultaneously.
"I have to go... Joan." She said smiling that for a second I thought she actually was interested in the topic.
Joan, the girl nodded and smiled at me. I gave her a small smile and took April with me.
"Let's go to the cafeteria" she said.
"Now?" I asked, the teacher wasn't here, but he would be here in any minute.
"Hungry." She said.
Screw it.
-
"It's almost eleven" I said, looking at my watch.
"I know, I kept an alarm" April smiled at me while munching into her burger.
I took another packet of ketchup and slowly sucked the end of it favouring the sweetness of tomatoes found in heaven that were mixed to form slow poison known as ketchup.
My phone started ringing.
"Hello?" I asked. April looked at me.
"It's Liam."
"Yup?"
"Where are you?" he asked annoyed.
"McDonalds, why?" I asked.
"At this time? Really? You ditched school?" he asked annoyed.
"Why? It's not like the first time." I said.
"Dude, we have been waiting for a while now, before we get caught we need to leave? Remember?"
I sighed. April raised her eyebrows. I looked at my watch again, it was eleven ten now.
"We'll be there in Five."
"Cool" Liam said. "Make it quick, your girlfriend is already missing you."
I smirked and kept the phone.
"What is it?" April asked.
"Where is your phone?" I asked.
She searched for it and smiled sheepishly at me. I raised one eyebrow.
"It's on silent."
