"I know this song..." April said, looking through her phone.
We were discussing about this song I should sing with Annora, if she allows me that is.
"BINGO!" she lifted her phone up in the air and bought it back to her face. "This one."
"Okay." I said looking at the song.
She sent it into my phone and I was planning to listen to the song for two whole days because I needed to catch on with the lyrics and the tune.
"Well, when are you planning to ask her out?"
"I really don't know..." I said truthfully.
She nodded understandingly. And there was just silence. We both looked out of the pizza shop's glass walls. She was thinking, again. This silence was getting me anxious. And I had no idea why.
"Oh my god." She said getting up from her chair abruptly.
I looked over to what she was looking at ad got up. I couldn't believe it.
"Oh my god" I repeated April.
"No shit Sherlock" April dragged me out of the shop and we slowly followed her. She was constantly texting someone. So, that meant that she was meeting up with someone here.
She stopped in front of the coffee shop and got in taking a seat. We both stood right next to her, watching her. She had her coloured her blonde hair to strawberry blonde, with some beige streaks. She looked so different. I couldn't believe my eyes. She had grown taller, and the short dress that she wore fitted her perfectly. But she hated dresses.
"I thought she hated dresses" April voiced my thoughts.
"Yeah, I though too" I said. "But, then again, we had all the wrong assumptions about her"
I still remembered when she said she loved mountain climbing as a hobby, but never looked fit for it. Neither did she show any interest when Liam had once planned it as our next adventure.
"She was a total wanna be" April whispered.
Yeah, she was. But I stayed silent.
She kept her phone down and looked for someone.
"Shit" April said and dragged me another way. I saw Mason emerge into view.
He walked past us without noticing us. My body was looming over April's small one. So, it was just luck. He went over to charlotte and they hugged. They ordered something and started chatting and laughing. It was like watching two people talking like they did every day. Every movement was smooth and there was no awkward silence. They both got up after finishing the food and walked out of the door less café. I and April were barely hiding, but we could hear them now.
"I need to get back" Charlotte said.
"I know. I need to too." Mason said, calmly.
Had they planned on meeting? When was he going to tell all of us? Did they just meet after a long time? But, how? Mason had said he had cut all kinds of conversations' with her whatsoever. I felt so confused.
And, then it all cleared with their next move. Mason pulled her to him and kissed her passionately. I heard a sob escape April's lips. She almost fell on the floor, but I caught her shoulders and held on to her. She turned and cried into my chest. She body moving as she silently let out sobs.
I didn't know why she was crying in the first place. But, I felt angry. I couldn't believe that mason had been with charlotte the whole time. The worst part was that he had been lying to us the whole time.
Was there anyone else who knew about this?
"You need to be careful, everyone is here. Don't get caught" Mason said, answering my question.
"Yeah, I know."
"Tell her I'll come" mason said.
"I will."
There was one more kiss and they separated parting their ways.
So, no one knew.
And then I called him. I called Mason.
