"Hey April?" I asked.
She was packing her bags for tomorrow as we were going to leave to Blackwoods at night.
"Yeah?" she asked not looking up from her bag. I understood that she wasn't really interested in talking about why she was upset at the mall. So, I just asked her what I wanted to know.
"Seen Sam anywhere?"
"No, Ethan." She answered "Go ask Avery"
"Okay... well you seen Avery somewhere?" I asked.
She let out a long sigh and looked at me. "I do not know!"
"Okay... Okay... whoa" I put my hands in surrender position and got off of the bed.
"No wait" she called after me.
I grinned.
Finally, I thought.
"So, why were you upset?"
"Because, I liked him and apparently he doesn't share the same feelings" she said. "I know it's immature and stuff but yeah. I was hurt."
"You're okay now, right?" I asked, genuinely concerned.
"Yeah... I am"
Before I went out to look for Sam and Avery I turned towards her and said "You know... if you ever want to talk... I'm here"
I walked out after feeling the satisfaction of leaving her with a smile plastered on her face.
-
"You've been ignoring me lately" Annora said looking at me suspiciously.
I chuckled a little and went forward to face her.
"Is there something going on between you and April?" she asked.
"Nope" I said and started walking down the stairs while she followed me.
"I have this feeling that Olivia likes you."
I stopped on my tracks and looked at her.
Olivia? Was Nora crazy or what? How could Olivia possibly like me?
"You are crazy, my girl" I said.
She turned red; I wasn't sure if it was because I called her 'crazy' or because I called her 'my girl', let's just hope it's the latter.
"I'm sure"
"You though Tina from the grade below us liked me" I said.
"But..."
"She was gay." I said. "Nora, calm down... Olivia doesn't like me"
"Okay... then what's bothering you?"
"Nothing is, I don't know what you're talking about"
"Fine...!" she said and walked away quickly.
Shit, I swore. That might have put her off... I should have just talked to her. I looked at my watch and walked to the terrace.
I opened the slightly ajar door and slowly walked in. I could hear hushed whispers; whoever was in there didn't want anyone to hear them for sure.
I went closer in the direction of the voices and stopped.
"Yeah, but she moved back here. Don't get why..."
I knew this voice.
Avery!
Of course it was Avery... who else could it have been. I thought of walking to her and joining the conversation, but I came to a abrupt stop when I heard the next person saying "It's Mason's isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is... But, I only found out today. Can you believe it?" Avery said.
"No I can't"
And before I could listen to the rest of the conversation a very cheerful Olivia came behind me.
"Hey, Ethan!!" she said in her unusual chirpy tone.
"Hey..." I said.
"whatcha upto??"
"I just..." nothing, really. "I've to go see Nora!"
"Don't"
"Why not?" I asked, confused.
