"Abby!" A voice shouted. I tore my eyes away from the sky and sat up to watch Kayla running across the ground, dragging Kyle by his hand. I waved and she fell into the soft grass beside me.

"Hi," I said, and Kayla smiled widely.

"Are you ready to partaaay?" She asked, nudging me with her elbow.

"Yeah," I answered, and Kyle moved so the three of us were sitting in a circle.

"Have you been to a party around here yet?" He asked me.

He really doesn't remember. He doesn't remember anything.

"No, not yet," I lied. It came to me so easily, lying about that night-even to my former best friend.

"Oh, well, the people here are a lot of fun at parties," Kayla said. I nodded and smiled, and voices called out as more people emerged from the path leading to the parking lot.

"Sweet, more people," Chad said. I turned and watched as he got down from the tailgate and shoved his phone in his pocket. He went into the truck and turned up the music so it was blaring from the speakers, making me jump. Groups of people started walking towards the party, some carrying coolers or cases of beer.

"Where does everyone get the booze?" I asked. The question was directed towards Kayla, but Chad spoke up instead.

"There's a few stores outside of town that don't check for I.D's, some people take it from the alcoholic parents, and some people just have connections," he explained before a few people started to approach us. The three of us stood up from the ground, and I left the group to grab a beer out of the cooler.

"Hey, you're Abby, right?" Someone asked from behind me. I turned and faced him, only to find a guy who was a captain for one of the varsity teams at our school.

"Yeah..." I said expectantly, waiting for him to introduce himself, since I couldn't remember his name.

"Colin!" A squeaky voice shouted, and a girl ran up next to the guy.

"I'm Colin, and this is Audrey," he explained, and pointed to the thin girl clinging to his arm.

"I'm Abby," I said, and I observed Colin. He looked like an athlete, probably football or lacrosse, which explained his varsity jacket. His face told me he felt extremely awkward with Audrey with him, and a little guilty she interrupted our conversation.

"Colin! Come with me!" Audrey squealed again, and I winced.

"So, I'll talk to you later?" Colin said, walking away. I gave him a tight smile and turned away from him. I searched the crowd for someone familiar, and I found Kayla and Kyle at the edge of the party, talking and smiling.

Awwee, Kayla.

I continued searching the crowd, and my mind drifted to Chad. His face, his body, the kiss.

Oh god, the kiss.

I felt giddy just thinking about it, the way he kissed me the night before. I wanted to do it again.

And again.

And again.

One more time.

And then again.

"Boo," a voice whispered in my ear, and I smiled and turned to face him.

"Still didn't scare me," I said, laughing when he tried to grab my sides and capture me.

"Well, damn, I thought it would work," he said, and I stepped closer to him. His arms moved back to his sides and he suck in his breath sharply. I simply grinned and watched as he slowly relaxed again, and lightly brushed his fingers against mine.

"Wanna dance?" I asked, and he shook his head and quickly brushed his hand through his hair once. "What? No? C'mon, you have to dance, Chad."

"No, Abigail, I don't dance," he said with a chuckle, and I frowned and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You don't dance, or you can't dance?" I challenged, and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Maybe I don't, maybe I can't, maybe both; and you will never find out which," he said with a smirk, and I shrugged.

"Your loss, Chad. I've been told I'm a lot of fun," I said, and strutted off to the group of people crowded around the massive speakers and danced along.

I was dancing, when an extremely drunk (and most likely, high) guy approached me and tried dancing, but it looked like he was imitating a beached whale. I stopped dancing and shot him an annoyed look.

"Can I help you?" I asked, and he kept 'dancing' as he spoke.

"You wanna make out?" He slurred, and I simply walked away. I walked towards Kayla, where she was with a group of girls from our school.

"Kayla, can I talk to you?" I asked, and she nodded and smiled apologetically to her friends.

"What's up?" She asked when I led her away from the party.

"I'm gonna leave, so I just wanted to say thanks and stuff," I explained, and an exasperated look appeared on her face.

"Nooo, Abby! It's only like, eleven! Besides, didn't you come with Chad?" She tried to reason with me.

"I'll call my brother, so he'll be on his way," I said, and she frowned.

"Whatever, loser. I'll call you when I get home, okay?" She said, and I nodded before pulling her in for a hug.

Kayla rejoined the party, and I sat out in the makeshift parking lot, waiting for my brother, Mason, to show up and rescue me. As time went by, I got more and more impatient for Mason to show up.

I sat in the parking lot for four hours.
