Okay

Okay

Okay

So Sherlocked

(That's the name of the convention I jut realised I hadn't mentioned it) (omg that rhymed)

Okay

Before we even got into the venue so when we were just by the tables where they scan the tickets and stamp your hands (the stamps were the black lotus symbol from series 1 episode 2 The Blind Banker wow I'm sad

There we got that's the stamp. Excuse my weirdly hairy arm.)

So while we were by those tables this older lady is walking towards us looking kinda lost and my mum goes "wow that lady's dressed up as Mrs Hudson" and I turn round and have a heart attack and violently whisper "no that actually is Mrs Hudson" because yes it was Una Stubbs she came in trough the wrong entrance and got lost and we had a little conversation with her and she was absolutely lovely she was exactly like Mrs Hudson in the show and she was also really small and my dad said maybe they cast her to make Martin Freeman look less tiny.

Then we went to a talk with Steven Moffat and Sue Virtue who's the producer and oml Steven Moffat is hilarious even if he is Satan.

And then

I hugged Rupert Graves aka Lestrade and Rupert Graves aka Lestrade hugged me back.

And I actually didn't look terrible in the photos I had taken which is a first for me.

Okay

But Rupert Graves was so nice he was really cheerful and he's a really good hugger and he smelt like aftershave it was great he was lovely.

And then I went to a talk with Andrew Scott aka Moriarty aka my new best friend and yknow how in these talks they take questions from the audience but no matter how often you put your hand up you never get picked?

Well guess who got picked bitches

You are correct it was me that was my first direct interaction with Andrew Scott it was great.

Hang on let me find the message I sent to the group chat because I'm too lazy to write it out again.

Italics is copied and pasted.

I was right at the back and I stood up and said "hi um I was just going to ask how you interpret moriarty's feelings towards Sherlock" and he was looking around and then he said "I don't know where you are" so I awkwardly waved from the back and went "hello there" like an awkward little [potato].

And then I asked the question again and he said all this stuff about how they were obsessed with each other and how Sherlock fascinates Moriarty and then he was like "because Moriarty isn't really a very sociable person and that's the different between him and Sherlock. Moriarty doesn't really have anyone to hang out with *pause* because he's blown them all up"

And then guess what I do?

I LAUGH REALLY LOUDLY EXCEPT I DONT LAUGH LIKE A NORMAL PERSON I SNORT LIKE A PIG/BROKEN CAR HYBRID

BUT THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST BIT

I WAS STILL HOLDING THE MICROPHONE

AND I SNORTED INTO IT

SO EVERYONE HEARD

INCLUDING ANDREW SCOTT

That was traumatic I am sorry

But I was properly shaking when I sat down I was so happy I'd spoken to him.

No but he said some really amazing things about mental illness and how it isn't recognised nearly as much as it should be and he spoke a lot about this film called Pride which he was in which is about the minor's strike during the reign of Maggie Thatcher and the support and response of the LGBT+ community to the minors and I'm really going to have to watch it because what he said about it and its effect was so powerful I seems important that I watch it now.

Right so after that I queued up for ages for an autograph from Andrew Scott but we had to give up on that because we went to a talk with Amanda Abbington aka Mary and Rupert Graves and that was so funny I actually almost cried laughing. Amanda is amazing she's so sassy and Rupert is like that one cool uncle who lets you do all the stuff your parents don't let you and treats you like a friend rather than a niece/nephew/non-binary version of niece or nephew I'm not sure what the word is.

For example

Interviewer: did you know the other people going for your roles?

Amanda: oh yeah I always have a look. I get curious.

Rupert: no not really

Amanda: yeah I always think it's helpful to just check so you know who you're up against

Interviewer: so is that your truck for getting the part?

Amanda: no I got in because I was sleeping with one of the stars

Audience: *aggressive laughter*

Audience: *aggressive laughter dies down*

*moment of silence*

Rupee: so was I

It was so funny they just seemed like such brilliant people I'm getting obsessive now okay.

But then after that we went and queued up for Andrew Scott autographs again but didn't quite get there before his photoshoot which I went to and oml it was just amazing my brother did a back to back gun pose with him and hen I went up and he goes "hello how are you?" In his adorable Irish accent and I'd like to point out he'd been doing autographs and photoshoot as AND talks all day for about eight hours and he was still so cheerful and lovely.

So anyway I say "I'm good thanks how are you?" Except it's more like "imgoodthankshowareyou?" Because a) we were being rushed along and b) because I was freaking out I mean after what he said about gay rights and mental illness in his talk he's pretty much my idol anyway he says "I'm great thank you" and he's grinning the whole time so then we get the photo taken and he hugs me omg I can't even I'm sorry I'm fangirling so hard and as I'm leaving I say "thank you so much" and he goes "you're very welcome and smiles again ugh just ugh it was magic.

So then we went back to queuing for his signing desk again because even though he'd officially finished his sessions he agreed to do a few more signings because he's such a lovely person honestly he was just genuinely a really honest, caring person he was so kind to everyone the whole day.

So we queued up again and I actually got there this time and I spoke to him a little again and the way he reacted was just so genuine I knew he obviously actually cared about what I was saying and it really meant a lot to me and I was actually kinda tearing up I have such respect for that man wow this got deep quickly.

It was great I'm so glad I went and honestly the things I did I won't ever forget and now I'm watching Sherlock season 1 episode 1 and as soon as Lestrade came on I went "I've hugged him" so now no one will ever want to watch Sherlock with me again because I'll just be narrating and crying even more than I used to.

Fangirl fest over
