Why do people want datemates and partners when you can just get a really nice jumper that will always hug you when you need it and it won't yell at you or piss you off it's just logic people

I like to think I'm pretty good at giving second chances but I feel like it's either that I don't say anything but at angry inside or I give too many second chances until people screw me over but that's not common or anything
