Four's POV
When I heard her whisper my name "Four" it was as if her voice was the only thing able to stop me from beating Drew more than I have. I could hear the pain and tiredness; everything she was feeling all in her voice. It hurts me too know that she's in pain.
I know I shouldn't care about Tris the way I do, it's stupid and immature. Im her instructor and she's my initiate, but somehow I see more in her than that.
As I walk up to her I realize how pale and sickly looking she is. She has blood coming from her nose and head but I don't think it's anything serious. As I carefully pick her up, I cradle her to my chest, "Don't worry Tris I got you, you're safe I promise" I whispered softly in her ear. If I didn't know she was in pain I would of thought she smiled a bit. Not long after I said this to her, she passed out and leaned her head against my shoulder.
My black shirt is soaked in blood between it being Tris's and Drew's but I don't care. All I care about is that she is safe and I can keep her that way. I need to keep her that way.
As I reach my apartment door I cradle Tris on my left side as I open the door. I quickly get her to my bed and lay her there. I shut the door and walked back to Tris and examine her carefully sitting on the bed beside her. She has some dark bluish purple bruises already forming on her face and one on her collar bone. I know her side is probably worse but I'll wait until she is awake to take a look. Her head is nothing serious like I thought but she is going to have a nasty bump and headache for a while.
I carefully get up and grab an ice pack from the freezer , carefully placing it under her head. I need to take care of a few things to make sure she is okay and as much as I don't want to, I need to take Drew to the Infirmary after leaving him by the chasm. I know Tris isn't going to wake up anytime soon so I quickly slip out of the apartment.
When I return Tris is still asleep and I have a black duffle bag in hand with all her clothes in it. When I dropped Drew off at the infirmary I walked to the initiate dorm and grabbed all her clothes knowing she would need to clean up. When I was there I noticed Peter and Al weren't and that made me want to get to Tris even faster. I know she's safe in my apartment but I feel better when I'm with her knowing she is safe. I place the duffle bag on top of my dresser against the wall and walk to the freezer to replace her ice pack with a fresh cold one. By now everything stopped bleeding and most of the blood is dried up now.
I get up and walk into my bathroom across the room. I turn on the sink water and let it warm up. As it does this I examine my face. I have a cut on the side of my mouth but nothing serious. I wash my hands and clean the bloody cuts that are on them. I watch as the water slowly turns from a light pink color back to a clear and shut the water off. I dry my hands and walk back to the bedroom.
When I walk into the bedroom I realize that Tris is beginning to wake up so I go and sit next to her on the bed. When her eyes flutter open I almost forgot that she was ever hurt. Everything else may be bruised, cut, or bloody but her greyish blue eyes so vibrant and fierce are as if nothing is wrong. Just so pure and full of life. Just so Beautiful.
