Naomi sighed softly, fiddling with her fingers as she's at up in the bed. Her eyes were downcast, watching the movements of her ever so frail fingers. The fourteen year old had been stuck in this bed for a little while, her body not feeling enough motivation to move out of the spot in which she was somewhat trapped. Her mind was constantly wandering, how were her mother and father? What if King Komali was lying? What if she couldn't defeat Queen Gohma...?
"Knock, Knock?"
A gasp escaped her pale pink lips, her head snapping up to look at the person who entered the room, only to earn a slight giggle in return, "I'm sorry, Naomi, did I scare you?"
"No, you're fine, Selie..." Naomi mumbles, looking down again. "I brought you in some food. You need to eat something if you want to be able to fulfil your task!" Selie giggles, placing the tray down onto a hand carved, wooden chair across the other side of the room. "You know, your sisters are really worried about you--" In the midst of wiping her hands on her apron, the blonde noticed the silence in the air, making her vibrant blue gaze fix itself onto the teenager in the bed.
Soft footsteps resonated through the room, before the bed sunk into the added weight of another human being, making Naomi look up at her again. Her eyes were almost lifeless. The maid gave her a soft, yet weary smile, "Is everything okay?" No response....Only the shake of a head.
"You wanna talk about it?"
Another shake of the head...
"Hm...Alright then, well, how about I tell you a story?"Naomi lifted her gaze a little, her eyes holding a slight spark in them before disappearing as she nodded softly, "Mhm..." This lifted a smile onto Selie's face, her ears perking softly as she tucked one leg over the other, pulling Naomi over beside her, much like a mother trying to tend to her child. "I haven't told stories to another girl for a long time, so I apologise in advance if it's scratchy!"
The woman took in a deep breath, before beginning....
"Trudging through the forest, a hero, clad in green, slashed his way through the trees. After having come so far on his journey, he was beaten, and bloody, and tired, but he was not ready to give up. After having fallen so far from a land above the clouds, the young hero had made it thus far to save his friend, with only a sword and shield in his hands...."
Naomi found herself rather intrigued in the story, removing the quilt from her body and throwing her legs over the side, as she listened to the woman beside her,
"The sword he carried, alone, was enough to defeat the dark ones, and purify the land of all evil. At least, that's what he was told. The blade of evils bane was said to have the power of the three goddesses, and he who carried it would wield the strength of the great hero whom had saved the Goddess Hylia from her certain demise. Through treacherous landscape he marched, battling through blinding heat and water deep enough to drown him. He skipped through time itself to save the girl he had so desperately longed to retrieved. No matter what beat him down, the hero, clad in green, finally made it to his destination. Defeating the demise that had awaited him for so long, the girl was free, and the two of them were free of any pain and suffering for an eternity more..."
"Oh come on!! That can't be the end of the story!!" Naomi exclaims, the minutes having passed by as if in a dream. Selie laughs, shaking her head softly, "Dear Naomi, that story is the legend behind us all. Supposedly, this very land was generated from the hero and the woman from above the clouds, where they rode on massive birds, before plunging down to the surface!"
"Whatever happened to the people!?"
"Sweetie, it's just an old wise tale! Our parents have been telling us that story since we were little children, so nobody really knows whether or not it's true!!" Selie smiles, placing an arm around Naomi and pulling her closer, "But do you know what the moral of the story is? Do you know how the hero made it through all those hardships alone?"
