Lanie chased after her husband, who was running around the house with a giggling Abigail on his shoulders.
"Hurry Daddy, she's getting closer!" Abigail shouted in between squeals of joy.
With a last burst of energy, Esposito sprinted into his and Lanies room. He leaned forward and dropped his daughter onto his big bouncy bed.
He chuckled and stared down at his daughter. Lanie ran into the room panting.
"You guys are just too fast for me. I can't keep up!" She said with a smile.
"Alright, alright, I think that's enough craziness for one night." Esposito began. "You can have a quick snack, then bed time." He said, picking Abigail back up.
"Okay Daddy!" Abigail exclaimed, kissing her dad on the cheek.
Lanie could feel her heart melt a little bit, her daughter was just so freaking adorable.
Down in the kitchen, Esposito set Abigail down on the island.
"You want some blueberries Abbs?" He suggested.
"Yes please!" The small girl squealed.
Lanie grabbed the clear plastic carton from the fridge, and put some of the berries inside into a pink plastic bowl. After washing them, she placed the bowl in front of her daughter, who happily popped one in her mouth. When she started chewing, she got a very focused, somewhat confused look on her face.
"How are they Abby?" Lanie questioned, confused about her daughters expression.
"They're good, but they taste better out of white chocolate seashell." She explained.
Lanie and Esposito looked at each other and laughed. Abigail would know, considering she practically lived on those berries and chocolate for the past week.
"Okay Abbs, I think it's bedtime. It's been a long week." Lanie suggested.
"But Mama, I'm not tired." Abigail protested. Unfortunately for her, her body didn't have the same ideas. She let out a huge yawn, and her eyes started to droop, and her shoulders sagged.
"Okay baby, I'm sure you're not." Lanie said picking her daughter up, her voice full of amusement.
As soon as Lanie had Abigail in her arms, Abigail's head fell against her moms shoulder and she fell asleep. Esposito looked over and chuckled.
"Not tired... As if." He laughed.
"Well, what did you expect Javi? We stayed for the fireworks every night, and those didn't start until 7:00, so by the time we got back to the hotel it was almost 8:00, and she didn't end up falling asleep until 8:30 or 8:45!" Lanie teased. Considering Abigail normally went to bed at 7:30, 8:45 every night for a week was catching up to her.
"She did have a lot of fun though. We all did." Esposito said with a smile. "What was your favourite part?"
Lanie smiled at her husband. "Well, I really loved seeing the girls and Nicholas play together. They really liked meeting all the characters. I also loved getting to hang out with Kate. Those baby boys will be here before we know it, and so it was really nice to get to spend time with her."
"I'm glad you had fun, I love you Lain." He said with a mile wide grin.
"I'm putting this one to bed, then doing the same thing myself. Goodnight Javi." Lanie said looking down at her daughter.
"Goodnight Lanie, sweet dreams."
