Chapter 1

* music playing *

......I figured it out, I figured it out from black and white...I turn the water on to take a bubble bath. I was singing to the lyrics of you and I from one direction. I got inside the tub & washed myself while drinking tequila. I was really happy since today was the anniversary of my boyfriend Armando & I. The bath was really relaxing until I heard my phone ringing. I got out the water & rapped the fluffy pink towel around my body. I walked into my room to look for my phone. When I finally found it I realized that it wasn't my phone that was ringing. I looked over to where the ringing sound was coming from. It was one of my drawers. I walked over to it & opened it. The ringing was coming from the phone that Armando had given me one day.

* flashback *

"Look Karla I want you to have this" he said while handing me a phone." What's this for?"." If this phone ever rings baby girl it's going to let you know that I'm dead & that you need to run but don't ever answer this phone okay" I got up and faced him." Armando but why are you telling me this". I said starting to cry and walking away but he caught up to me and kissed me while leaning me on the door." Don't cry baby girl. Everything is going to be alright".

* reality *

I had the phone on my hands & it was still ringing. I took the phone & answered it. " h-hello?"." Karla they killed Armando. Now run Karla run & never stop running because they're going to come get you & kill you & everybody else that knew Armando so run Karla run!!!". I let go of the phone trying to realize what that person had just told me. I quickly dress up & through all the things possible in my bag. I head to the leaving room and grab all the money I had hidden for emergency .I got out the apartment quickly & walked somewhere that I could be safe for a while. I walked cautiously looking back to make sure nobody was coming after me. I got to this taco restaurant & sat down taking out my phone to call my best friend Yara. I called and called but she wouldn't answer, so I left a voicemail ." Yara it's me, Karla...they killed Armando" I said in between tears." Yara they killed Armando, tell Josue. so now get everybody ready so we can leave". I finally said hanging up.

* Yara's pov *

I was outside with the kids when my husband Josue called me inside. I got the kids to go inside & closed the door." God Damit Yara can't you not answer your phone. It's been ringing for the last hour!"." Why can't you answer it? Instead of sitting there & poisoning your self with that fucking weed!!!". I grabbed my phone & saw that I had 5 missed calls from Karla & one voicemail. I listen to the voicemail & I can't believe my ears. Karla said they killed Armando and that we have to run. I look over to Josue ." Josue they killed Armando!". Josue looks at me & instantly he gets up & grabs his gun." Get the kids & let's get the hell out of here!!". I started to get our stuff ready when suddenly 2 man came bursting into our door. I ran to the room with the kids & tried to hide them. They came and grabbed me from the hair pulling me out to where Josue was. I looked over to josue & the love of my life was already dead." P-please don't hurt me not the kids please!" I said crying but they didn't care cause then suddenly everything went black.

* Karla's pov *

After I called Yara I walked out & started to her house. I looked back every time to make sure nobody was watching me. After I got to her house I found the door open & inside was something I'd never wanted to see. I saw Josue dead on the floor and blood everywhere. I followed this path of blood that headed towards one of the rooms. There was Yara leaning on the door injured. I looked inside the room & saw the kids on the floor. Dead." Y-yara....what did they do to you?" I pulled her closer to me but there was nothing I could do Yara was dead. I cried & cried when finally I got up & left to where Armando had taken me one day at his hiding place.
