"Tasha." My dad shook me. "Get up."
I rolled over and huffed. I wasn't ready to go to school and be the new girl with no friends.
I rubbed my eyes and headed towards the shower. After I showered I stood in front of my closet deciding what I'd wear. I decided on a black v-neck t-shirt, with pale orange shorts & my tropical fusion 5s.
I flat ironed my sixteen inch weave and studied myself in the mirror.
"Lets get going!" My dad walked in."Uh whats that?"
He pointed to the mascara tube in my hand.
"We never agreed to make-up Tash."
"Dad it's just a little eyeliner & mascara. Mom lets me wear it."
He shrugged his shoulders and headed towards the car.
Moments later we pulled up to a huge brick building and walked to the main office.
"Tasha Taylor, I'm Dr. Bell your principal, here's your locker number, combination & your class schedule." He smiled and handed me the paper.
I thanked him and headed towards my 1st period class.
"Hi! You must be Tasha Taylor? I'm Mrs. Holmes welcome to 10th grade honors english."
I smiled and took a seat in the back.
"Hey." A caramel girl sitting next to me waved.
"Hi." I waved back.
"I'm Asia." She whispered.
"I'm-."
"Tasha Taylor yeah I know."
"Mhm you watch my videos huh?" I was impressed.
"That & she just said your name."
I felt embarrased.
She laughed. "Its okay because Tash Tay is the way." She did my signature hair flip.
I laughed.
"So uhm want to sit with me at lunch?" She asked.
I hated being alone & not knowing anybody so I agreed. "Yeah sure."
Three hours later Asia & I were walking to the lunch tables on the side of the school.
We walked up to a table where a lightskin girl with permed hair was sitting.
"Hey hey hey." Asia sat next to her.
"Hey boo!" The lightskin looked up from her phone.
"This is my new friend Tasha, Tasha this is Kaleah."
"Hey." I took a seat on the opposite side from them.
Just then I heard a bunch of noise and looked around.
Just my luck the group of obnoxious boys from taco bell were goofy around.
"They are so obxnious." I said out loud.
"You don't like them?" Asia asked.
"Who are they? & what are they doing?" I knitted my eyebrows.
Kaleah mouth flew open "The Ranger$ & they jerk."
Rangers, rangers, rangers? I thought to myself. I heard of them before.
"Ohhhh my friend Jasmin is in love with them! I knew they looked kind of familiar."
Just then a small lightskin boy from the group approached the table.
"Sup Asia?"
"Hi Frank." Asia blushed.
Just then the rest of them walked up.
"Aye Kaleah go buy me some hot cheetos." A tall boy with a thick mohawk sat right next to me.
"Ceejay you sound stupid." Kaleah laughed.
"Ya'll this is my friend Tasha." Asia introduced me.
"Aye I seen you somewhere before." A lightskin boy spoke. I regconized him as Julian, I know him because Jasmin swore that was her boyfriend.
"Thats the stank girl from taco bell." The boy with the camera stated.
"Corey shut up." Another lightskin boy said. He had thick lips and curly eyelashes.
"I'm Julian." Julian shook my hand.
"I know." I smiled.
"Figures." He winked and I'm straigh faced him. "Nah I'm playing."
I laughed. "I'm Tasha."
"Tash Tay is the way." Julian flipped his imaginary hair.
I started cracking up.
"So you watch my videos huh?"
"I peeped a few."
"Aye my name in Langston." The thick lip curly eyelashed boy sat on the table.
"I'm Tasha."
"Alright come on ya'll lets record before lunch over."
They got uo and started jerking everywhere. Langston stood on the vending machine and started dancing. Randomly they came and stood on our table and started jerking.
Asia, Kaleah & I sat there laughing and enjoying the view.
Maybe the move wouldn't be so bad after all. I smiled to myself
