"FINALLY!" I closed my African American Humanities notebook. It was friday evening and I had just finished my homework.
Just then the signature iphone ringtone started playing and I answered my phone.
"Hello."
"DHZGNKSI!!" My best friend screamed into the phone.
"Uhhh...Jasmin you okay?"
"Tasha why didn't you tell me you knew the ranger$" Jasmin was still screaming.
"Uhm because I just met them & two I haven't talked to you this week!"
"You could've sent me a text nigga!" She finally lowered her voice.
"How do you know anyways?" I asked in confusion.
"Because you're in their video."
"What?!!"
"Yepp go look on youtube ThemPRangers."
I grabbed my macbook and did as told. Surely that was me sitting at the lunch table laughing as Langston & Ceejay jerked on the table.
I looked scrolled down & noticed they had 24,569 views and they had just posted the video 11 hours ago.
"Wow I didn't know they were that popular."
"I tried to tell you to pay more attention to them but noooo." Jasmin laugh.
Just then my dad walked in. "Hey can you walk to the corner store and get a soda?"
I nodded. "Hey Jas I'm going to have to call you back."
"Okay."
I hung up and headed towards the corner store. Just as I was rounding the corner I heard music playing and of course it was the rangers.
"Ayyye Tash Tash wassup?" They greeted me.
"Is Taco bell ya'll chill spot or something?" I asked.
"You ain't know?" Frank said.
"Well I do now!"
"What you doing?" Julian asked.
"Alright lets finish shooting this part." Everyone but Julian headed back to the street.
"Just came to get a soda for dinner!"
"Soda? Girl you must be from the south."
I laughed. "Georgia raised me."
"Well I could use some skittles, I'll come in the store with you."
We walked into the store, got what we needed and walked out.
"I have to go, see ya monday."
"Wait." He stopped me. "We're all going to the movies tomorrow, want to come?"
"Yeah sure but I have to ask my strict dad."
"Okay well lets exchange numbers & hit me up if you can come."
I hugged him and walked away.
