It was now the end of January. After November, things started to get better for Nico. Will and him went on a couple more dates, and it was like they were already dating except no one had ever made it official.

Nico didn't no why he just didn't ask Will to be his boyfriend. Maybe he was just scared of rejection. Maybe he was scared that Will wouldn't want to be in a relationship. Maybe he was scared what people would think.

All Nico knew was that things didn't seem exactly right without Will.

They weren't always together. They didn't have many classes at school together except one and occasionally saw each other in the halls. During that period of events, Will would sappily try to steal a kiss from Nico, who would dodge out of the way just to tease him, and he would walk off to class smirking.

Nico had gotten closer with his friends. Jason and him hung out together, occasionally with Percy and Piper. Sometimes Annabeth would tag along if she wasn't busy with her college entries. Nico discovered that they were all amazing people. Frank did grow somewhat distance of the group ever since Hazel's death, but he still tried to remain the Frank they always knew, and was still kind and talked to them.

Nico specifically didn't like this time of year. The end of January, the peak of winter, Nico hated. Not only did the sky constantly dump snow on them, but it was also his birthday.

January 28th, Nico's eighteenth birthday, was today. He wasn't all excited.

No one knew about his birthday except Jason who had somehow got the information out of him one day. Except for him, no one else knew. Not even Will.

His goal was to get through the day without anyone making it a big deal, but Nico didn't think that would be possible this year. Jason was walking around with a semi-happy, evil smirk on. When Nico would ask him what he was planning, Jason would respond with "Nothing" or "I didn't tell anyone Neeks" which he knew was complete bullshit.

Nico was right. It was bullshit. Jason told everyone about his birthday but no one said anything.

It was 4:30 P.M. and Jason had just texted Nico that the group wanted meet him at the park. Sure. Nico wasn't a Scrooge, he would meet them at the park.

Nico trudged slightly, ruining the perfect white snow with his shoe patterns. He could practically feel his ears and nose turning pink from the cold.

As he was walking he thought he heard running from behind him. Then someone yelled "Nico!" And he felt that person wrap their arms around him from behind, hugging him, and slightly picking him up in the straggling hug.

Nico yelped. "What the fuck!" He tried to get out of the persons arms.

"Sunshine, you didn't tell me it was your birthday!" The person said.

Oh. It was just Will.

Nico calmed down and went limp in his arms. "Jesus fucking Christ Solace! You scared me."

Will snorted. "Sorry."

"Did Jason tell you?" Nico turned around to face Will.

"No. Piper did."

Nico gave him a confused look. He didn't tell Piper.

"Jason told Piper who told me and everyone else."

"Oh," Nico nodded. He was slightly pissed at Jason for this. "Remind me to kill Jason."

Will's eyes twinkled with amusement at that comment. "Everyone else will meet us here in a few minutes. They're just late."
