Chapter Twenty

Haydin POV

I was lounging in my apartment when my phone vibrated in my hand. I looked at the phone. Answer the door, Haydin it read. It was from Reaka. I smiled and wondered why she had come. I had realized that I had a crush on her when I saw her a few days ago. My thoughts were plagued by her face, but I knew that she didn't feel the same way. She was out of my league with her black hair and beautiful violet eyes. The thing I loved most, though, was her lips. They were a pretty pink and they were so full. Hey! Don't knock my thoughts. I'm deaf. I spend a lot of time looking at peoples lips. It comes with reading them.

I answered the door and was surprised. Reaka looked like she had just got finished crying. "Are you okay, Reaka?" I asked. Her face contorted with pain.

"Can I come in?" she asked.

I flushed. I was standing in the doorway and here she was on my doorstep, obviously in distress. "Yeah, come in." I moved toward the couch, but Reaka caught my wrist. I turned to her in question.

"Tell me if I do this right," she said. I was confused for only a moment before her lips captured mine. I was shocked for a moment, but I soon recovered. I met her obvious hunger with my own. My lips moved in sync with hers. This was by far the best kiss I had ever experienced. We parted reluctantly and gasped for air. I stared at her with shock. She kissed me! Reaka looked uncomfortable with my stare.

"I'm sorry. I just had-" she started. I didn't let her finish. I grabbed her waist and pulled her close. My lips captured hers and I nibbled slightly on her bottom lip. She gasped and I deepened the kiss. My hand gripped her hair and her legs went around my waist and I carried her to the couch. I dropped her onto it and she squealed in surprise. I was about to capture her lips once more when she pulled back and cocked her head to the door. I sighed. This would be the time somebody knocked on my door.

I walked toward the door. Before I opened it, I looked longingly toward Reaka sitting on the couch. She waved at me. "Answer it," she ordered. I opened the door. A man stood outside. I'd never seen him before. His blond hair and startlingly blue eyes made him above average in the looks department. He was what most women would describe as 'smokin'. His eyes also made me feel very wary.

 "Is Reaka here?" he asked.

I narrowed my eyes. "She is. What's it to you?" Could this be an old boyfriend?

He smiled a chilling smile. "Just doing my job." He grabbed my arm and yanked me into the hallway. I stumbled past him and almost hit the wall. When I turned, the door to my apartment was closed. I tried to open it and found it locked. I didn't like the looks of that man. I knocked on the door. I pounded on the door. I shouted. I got no answer. What was going on?
