Cole's POV

We were all starting to get worried. No one has heard from Emma or Nya since their fight. Kai was in the same condition as me, worried and stressed out. I couldn't take it. Even Kai's hair looked messier than usual. Anyways, it's been at least three hours and it's almost time for us to start training.

"Hey, bro?" a soft voice asked. I turned around to see Alyssa leaning against my doorframe, "Hey, sis. What's up?" I questioned, tying my shoes. "Why isn't anyone going to look for her? You know, get her to come home?"

"Lloyd went out," I answered, smoothing down my black shaggy hair in the bathroom mirror. "When was that?" I asked, sitting on his bed. "Ally, listen," he started off, "Emma is back, I know it's hard to adjust, but it was harder when she was gone, wasn't it? I'm trying to make her feel at home but this isn't her home anymore, you need to understand that,"

"Cole, I'm not five," she rolled my eyes, "I'm serious, I know you get it, but we are all going to have to stop asking and start helping, agreed?"

Alyssa nodded, "Will she really go back into the woods again? After last time?"

I sighed, "She may, let's not find out."

"I'll work on getting the signs taken down around the City then, I'll see you later," she said, walking towards the door.

"Hey," I interrupted, she turned around, "Be back soon, I'm cooking, and, if you see Emma, tell her I'm sorry."

Emma's POV

"I don't know," I softly said, dipping my left hand into the fountain. Lloyd wrapped and arm around me and smiled, "You never know, it's not a knowledge game," he replied.

"But it was different, this fight. I couldn't control myself, all the feelings, they all just poured out. And Nya- I broke our trust," I complained, looking down at my hands. "Nya is a samurai, might I add. You think a little secret is going to kill her? No way! I've seen that girl kick a punching bag clear off the chain, kick, not punch," he laughed.

"Was that when I was gone?" I spoke up. Lloyd grew silent and looked through my sunglasses, "Yeah," he mumbled, looking down. "Yeah it was."

"Four-hundred and two days!" someone called out, "Four-hundred and two days of the loss of Emma Brookstone!" they added. I jerked my head around, a man with white, glossy hair and a black suit and tie waved around a newspaper. I sighed and stood up, "What is that about?" Lloyd asked, stepping towards the man.

"Isn't this how the City usually is?" I asked, Lloyd shook his head, "No, it's just posters and sad songs, this, this isn't right."

I heard tons of boo's and shouts of anger spreading across the streets. People bombarded this man, encasing him in a circle. Many on-lookers joined the chant, "Four-o-two!" they kept repeating. I looked around as everyone filed in, closing off the City courtyard completely. Lloyd and I were separated and I kept reaching for his finger but he was gone.

I counted police cars, one, then two, three and four. More and more continued arriving and police filed out of the car. I pulled my hood up and kept myself hidden, a nobody in the crowd. "The green ninja!" someone shouted through a megaphone. I looked up at the center stage for performances to see the man in the suit pointing to Lloyd who was being restrained by three large hit-men.

I wanted to cry out, to shout, but I couldn't. I was elbowed in the side, being pushed around as people moved closer. I fell onto the ground and was stomped on, kicked and I rolled out of the crowd, onto the side street behind the fountain.

I lifted myself onto my elbows and stood up shakily, pain spreading around my body, "Why haven't you found our beloved Emma?! You can't protect this city! You're the ones leaving it to perish!" the announcer shouted. Lloyd stayed silent, no one dared to touch him either, afraid of what he may do.

The police finally charged into the courtyard, pulling people away and pushing in. But the people started the riot, they yelled out, they fought. The people fought the police.

The mother's took their children away as the men fought, punching and swinging at the cops. Backup was called, more backup, more cops. I scooted back to a building, sitting against it as I observed my cuts and bruises. Lloyd was dragged off the stage and pushed onto the ground where he scrambled to his feet and searched the crowd for me. But he couldn't see me over all the people.

"Lloyd!" I tried yelling, but my voice was nothing compared to the people. I looked to my left, four dragons gliding through the air. My eyes widened and I leaped to my feet, walking backwards along the brick wall, all my fault, I kept repeating in my head.

The chant continued as the ninja arrived, pulling the people from the cops and shutting down the rebellion of the people. "You do nothing for this City! You lost Emma, you're very own! You can't get her back! And what safety are we under as you don't stop this danger?!" the man kept screaming.

I started running, ignoring the pain in my knee and arms. I made it through the crowd as Kai helped Lloyd. The man, he, him, was pulled by the arm into a police car. I shoved through, finally making it out into the grass. I sprinted down the courtyard, as fast as my feet could go. I glanced back, the riot dying down slowly. Jay caught my eye and nudged Cole. The lightning ninja ran behind me, leaving the crowd in the dust.

I stopped abruptly as I almost rammed head into a person. I jumped up to the side and passed them clearly, "Excuse me, " I called out. Almost making it into an alley I saw a dark shadow pass on the wall. An all too familiar shadow. I heard footsteps behind me but I was suddenly too involved with my fear that I couldn't move.

"Emma?" someone asked behind me. I stayed facing the wall, looking at the shadow that formed a man, it seemed to be in the wall. "Emma, come on," the voice whispered, tugging my arm. The tugging stopped when Jay finally caught on to what I was seeing, "Jay?" I squeaked.

"Is that--" he began, not finished his sentence. It started again, all over. The numbness, the darkness, the fear. Suddenly I was forgetting everything again, "We have to get out of here!" Jay shouted, holding onto my hand. I looked back, seeing his face stern, a gaze in his eyes. I looked back at the shadow and stayed frozen, fear is a powerful thing.

"Let's go!" Jay pulled. He pulled me out of my trance and grasped my hand as he sprinted away from the building which suddenly collapsed, a small building it was, but the power it couldn't handle. He sprinted the direction of the tea shop as we ducked to avoid the debris.

"What the hell was that?!" Jay shouted at me as he kept pulling me into the courtyard of the tea shop. "I-I don't know," I whispered. He opened the door for me and looked behind us before coming in himself. Cole stood with a worried look on his face he saw me and pulled me into his arms, refusing to let go.

"What happened, Lloyd?" Kai asked, leaning his elbows on his knees from the couch, I looked across the room and my eyes lit up, I let go of my brother and ran to my boyfriend, hugging him, "We were just talking, then this guy came out and started chanting 'four-hundred and two days'. Crowds started forming and pushed me away from Emma and onto stage, yelling about how we can't protect the city and can't protect Emma," he explained.

"We saw him," Jay reported, grabbing a bottle of water and alcohol for cuts. He walked over to me and started cleaning up the minor scratches on my arms and gave me the water to drink. "He tried sending Emma and I to another dimension, but I pulled her out before it happened," he added.

"I couldn't move," I said, sipping the water. "It was like a trance, where everything just shut down. I couldn't hear Jay, and I couldn't do anything, I felt so helpless."

"Petrified," Zane told me. "Where did you get all the mark ups?" Cole asked as I took off my black jacket. "Well, Lloyd was gone and people trampled me, I'm not strong anymore, I can't just keep standing," I sighed.

"I saw the riot!" Alyssa came in out of breath, "Emma," she began, "They will kill us for you, you've started a rebellion."
