I gasped, "Mom and dad!" I shouted, "What about them?" Alyssa asked, sitting next to Kai.
"They don't know I'm alive, what will happen?" I questioned, looking out the window. "The media," Lloyd softly said. "They'll corrupt it, if we can't even get the posters down then there's no way we can stop this rebellion," Cole added.
Suddenly, a light tap at the door sounded and we all jumped a little in surprise, "It's eight at night, who could it be?" Kai asked, standing up to answer the door. He pulled open the door, grabbing the door handle. Right in the doorway stood a small girl about five feet and eight inches tall but super small in size.
She smiled at us and placed a hand on her hip. She looked super-girly, wearing a white chevron crop top with a matching pair of shorts. She had super light brown hair that waved down her shoulders and half-way down her back. "Hi, I'm Emily, and you need my help," she admitted, smiling at Sensei. "Uh, what are you talking about?" Cole asked, joining Kai at the door. Alyssa looked at me in her eyes widened, she shoved a throw pillow in my face and pushed me down behind the couch. I landed with a thud and groaned loudly. "Uh, what was that?" the girl asked, leaning inside and looking through the living room.
Third Person
"Nothing!" Kai remarked, blocking the doorway. Emily sighed and chuckled lightly, "I know Emma is here, I'm not stupid. Honestly, you think you can hide a person from the elemental master of light, I can basically see her behind the couch," she said, placing a hand on her hip. The ninja looked back and forth and shrugged at each other.
"Emma, come here for a moment," Sensei Wu called. Emma stood up and walked to the door, standing in front of this girl, "I'm Emily Barnes, elemental master of light," she introduced, shaking Emma's hand.
"How do you know I'm alive? More so how do you know where I've been?"
"It's a thing, as a light master I can see things, sometimes. But after the riot in the park, I knew you were alive. It wasn't hard to find out," she honestly told us. "So, what can you help us with?"
"Nice of you to ask, can I come in? It's kind of cold out here," she asked.
"Oh, sorry, yeah, come in," Jay stepped up. She sat on the couch as we all sat near her. "I'm an environmental activist and analyst, and I think I can solve your riot problem. I'm good at convincing people, and arguing, comes with the job. Anyways, if I can get into the rebellion's leadership, I can shut it down," she planned.
"What's your plan?" Lloyd questioned.
"I meet up with the man in prison, and convince him to let me start with the public. I'll make a campaign to make Ninjago a better place for Emma's return, to blame you all, the ninja. I'll start simple, I'll plant trees and campaign to make Ninjago a better place," she explained.
"It starts with the trees, and I'll tell this to the man in jail. After I convince the people to help make Ninjago a better place, I convince the City Council to let me be their environmental analyst, once I'm in, I'll start making everyone in the Council believe it's your fault Emma's gone, that will be easy. The hard part is getting the people, you're parents, I'll interview them, but they will not blame you for your sisters disappearance. At the same time I'm working the people, I'll use my strive for a better Ninjago to help. The news, papers, magazines, everything will broadcast twenty-year old Emily Barnes trying to save Ninjago and the people helping. This helps distract the news from Emma, even though the blame is cast on you," she concluded.
"Okay, but the blame on us, that's starting the rebellion to us," Kai argued.
"Like I said, I live to argue, I'm basically an environmental laywer, alright? The blame is cast on you so that I can get into the rebellion, if I agree with everyone then they'll trust me more. I get in the rebellion, and I shut it down at the very end, long enough for Emma to get back into our lives and basically shut the rebellion down for us. But in order to shut it down, I need to help start the riots, get Ninjago going. I'm here to change everyone's minds and get Emma in safely and take the blame away from you in the very end."
"What do we do?" Alyssa asked, leaning on Kai's shoulder. "You? Alyssa Brookstone? Yeah, you'll be my assistant, sounds selfish but I promise it isn't. What it means is at interviews with people, you'll be taking notes and reporting back to the ninja, a spy for a spy. Emma, you'll be campaigning with me. When in the city promoting environmental awareness, I'll need your help reaching the people, a simple disguise will help with that."
"That's an elaborate plan, Emily. Do you think you'll be able to get it done?" Sensei asked.
"I'm slightly offended, Sensei," she said in shock. "You've trained me for six years, remember? I can do this, you asked for my help, you raised me Sensei Wu. Everywhere I am is because of you."
"Woah, you had another student for six years?" Jay awwed. "But that was before us!" Cole added.
"I took her in when she was living in a poor foster home, it wasn't good for her and I knew she as an elemental, so I trained her as a ninja," he told the ninja.
"That explains a lot," Lloyd mumbled. "Hold on," Emma interrupted.
"Why would you do this for me? For us? What's in it for you?"
Emily sighed and stood up, "Even though I've been trained, I had to stay hidden, Sensei wanted you all to be the four ninja because you all had something that connected to each other. But he would still take care of me. I left him when I was eighteen to pursue my career, and I want to actually make a difference. When Sensei called I was thrilled that I had the chance to actually make a difference somewhere. And something that involved my career, I just had to do it. Nothing is in it for me except allowing me to help you, to let me feel like something matters," she finished.
"I don't know," Kai said, placing his head in his hands, Emily sighed and nodded to Sensei, "I'm staying around Ninjago, nowhere specific, just around, so if you have an answer, just call me, Sensei has my number," she said, walking towards the door.
"Emily," Sensei said, stopping her, "Yeah?" she wondered.
"Please do not tell me you are staying with him? Or any foster home?" he pleaded.
"I-I don't have a choice, I stay with him because I need to survive, we have been over this. Who do you expect me to live with? I'll stay in the trees? I'll work and get an apartment? But being an environmental analyst doesn't pay much," she shrugged.
"Who's he?" Jay asked. "Flint, my father. He never took care of me, he lives in a crappy apartment off the outskirts, and I would rather not stay there but I need to stay somewhere, he doesn't support any of my decisions but I don't really care," she told the ninja.
"Well," Nya said. "I don't know about you, but I like this plan, and I like this girl," she chuckled. "And, no one better stop me, but since I half-run this place, other then Sensei G, Misako and Wu, I agree that she should stay. And if she is going through with this plan she should be staying here," Nya recommended.
"Oh yeah, someone is going to have to explain this whole freaking plan to Garmadon and Misako," Emma yawned.
"Okay, so you're in, we all agree that Emily stays, and goes through with this very elaborate plan," Cole spoke up.
Emma nodded and walked into the hallway, "Goodnight losers! Welcome to your new home, Emily, sweet dreams, I feel dead," Emma announced, walking into the hallway.
"So, anyways, stay here for the night, one of the girls will lend you some pajamas and you can gather your things tomorrow," Sensei said, kissing the top of her forehead and walking off. She gave him a hug and waved him off, staying back with the ninja in the living room, "The plan starts tomorrow," she announced, looking into the ninja's eyes.
