Alyssa was fine, and so was I. Alyssa found Emily in time and everything went alright. Now we're just supposed to be resting. But it's so hard to rest when you don't know what you're resting for.

I sighed and dropped my head back down onto my pillow, turning over to face the door. "What's on your mind?" Kai wondered as he leaned against the wall. I shrugged and sat up, looking around at the ninja as they all sat in their beds.

They were either reading, laying down, or just talking with each other. "I just don't understand why we aren't training," I groaned, throwing my pillow at my brother who grunted as it hit his face.

"You're not allowed to train," Jay retorted. "You're not recovered from the--"

"Dark Island! I get it! But I just don't see how sitting is going to help us," I snapped. "It helps you rest, Emma," Zane added.

"Right, rest. Because having a choice is where I am. I don't get to tell my parents I'm alive. I'm not allowed out unless I'm in costume with Emily. And I'm not allowed to train because heaven forbid I'm a cracked piece of glass!" I complained, standing to my feet.

I looked at my brother and walked over to him, grabbing my pillow from him and walking out of the room.

Alyssa's POV

I looked out the window and sighed, leaning on the sill. Emily is still out, she's at the prison right now talking to that man who was arrested. She's already started convincing the city hall that we are at fault for this, and I just feel really guilty.

"Stop worrying, Ally," Kai pouted, pulling my arm. I sat on the couch nxt to him and extended my legs over his lap, resting my head on his shoulder. "What happens now?" I pondered.

He held my hand and looked into my eyes, "We stick together. Whoever this is, he can't break us if we don't let him get to us," he replied softly.

"i'm tired of running," I admitted.

"We're all tired of running, but we have to be ready for anything. He can't hurt what he doesn't control..."
