Jo's P.O.V
As I was holding Ryan's hand, I felt a small spark as both our hands made contact with each other. I gasped and I hoped Ryan didn't notice. There's no way Ryan would be into me. Besides, I'm with John now so it doesn't matter. Right?
On the drive to the recording studio, I couldn't help but think about earlier. That girl April, she's a total bitch. I'm glad Ryan dumped her. And the way Ryan told me I was beautiful made me feel really good. I mean John always tells me I'm beautiful but I don't actually feel anything but with Ryan, there was sincerity in his voice, but I kind of notice a hint of sadness as he said John was a very lucky man.
Nah. It can't be. He's just looking out for me. I'm like the little sister he never had. We arrived at the studio and walked up to the receptionist.
"Hey Rebecca is Demi here?" Asked Ryan as he tapped his fingers on the desk.
"One moment Mr. Tedder." Said the woman who started batting her eyelashes at him while he paid no mind to her.
"So how's the love life loser?" I asked as I ran my hand through my hair.
"It's alright I guess. Just living the single life." He answered smiling weakly.
"Don't worry Ryan, you'll find a girl that'll make you happy. You definitely deserve it." I said placing my hand on his arm and I felt that familiar spark from earlier.
"There's actually one girl, that I have feelings for but I just don't know how to tell her." He answered rubbing the back of his head.
"I need to meet this girl Ryan Benjamin Tedder." I said to him sternly and he laughs.
"Trust me, you will." He smiled at me.
"Yes sir Mr. Tedder, Miss Lovato is upstairs waiting to see you."
"Come on Jo!" Said Ryan as we went into the elevators.
As the doors closed, I suddenly felt some tension in the air. I looked down and started to fidget with the hem of my sweater.
"You okay there half pint?" I heard Ryan ask in concern.
I look up into his green eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I answered giving him a reassuring smile.
Suddenly, the elevator jolts to a halt making lose my balance and fall, but I felt Ryan catch me and pull me close to him.
We stare at each other for a while and I couldn't help but blush. What the hell is wrong with me? I don't like Ryan like that!
"You okay Jo?" He asked in a husky tone and I couldn't help but bite my lip and nod.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I answered as I pulled away and dusted myself off.
"Not again damn it!" Said Ryan as he started pacing around the small space, running his fingers through his hair.
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"This damn elevator keeps getting stuck. They seriously need to fix it." Ryan answered.
The elevator jolts again and Ryan stumbles a little but I grab him by the hand.
"Thanks half pint." He answered sincerely as he composes himself.
We pull to the tenth floor and I follow Ryan out of the elevator and into a long narrow hallway.
"Ryan, can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Sure half pint! What's up?" He asked turning his head to me.
