Renee's POV

"I know you have a crush on Zach." Johana smiled at me.

"No!" I raced out immediately.

"Sweetie I can tell." She answered reassuringly.

I flush red. How can she tell I have a crush on Zachary?

"How can you tell?" I asked.

She starts to think and then she gives a lopsided grin.

"The way you look at Zach was the way I looked at Ryan when I first met him." She replied.

I can still see it in her eyes, the way she stares her fiancé it's something I've never seen before. And it makes me want something like that.

"For someone so young, you speak like someone who has experience."

"I've had so much happen to me at a young age so physically, I'm young. But mentally, I'm old before my time."

"But what if he has a girlfriend?"

"He's single sweetie, he's been single for a very long time. But just remember if you do hurt him, I will come after you." She said, placing my hand on her shoulder, making me feel a little nervous.

I mean, I know she means well, the three of them have known each other for such a long time it's almost like they're family.

(Four hours later)

"Thank you so much having me Miss Barretto." I said as I hugged her.

I never realized someone like her could be so nice and laid back!

"Call me Jo." She smiled at me.

"And no I want to thank you again. We should have breakfast tomorrow or something." She added.

"Sure! I'd like that." I answered with a grin on my face.

As I headed towards the elevator, I started to think about what happened a few minutes ago. He kissed me! Zachary Filkins kissed me! Suddenly, I heard someone call my name.

"Dr. Ziel! Wait up!"

I turned around and it was Zachary running towards me.

"Mr. Filkins! Are you alright?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows at him.

"Yes, I'm fine. Are you leaving?" He asked almost as if he was mentally pleading for me not to go.

"Yeah, I'm really tired and besides, I want to make the most of my vacation." I answered nervously.

Crap! Why am I nervous around this man?

"I can drive you if you'd like?" He said snapping me from my thoughts.

"No thank you Mr. Filkins, you have been drinking a lot and that wouldn't be the best of ideas."

"Oh, I'm full of ideas!" He smiles, making me laugh a little.

"You're cute." I replied.

Oh shit did I say that out loud? Crap! I meant to keep that to myself.

He grins brightly, making me blush.

"Alright then I'll walk you home." He said, snapping me from my thoughts.

"No it's okay I can walk from here. Where I'm staying is not that far." I gave him a reassuring smile.
