A couple of days had passed and Georgie's nightmares had stopped but she would still have random outbursts if we were out in public. Simon had told me about the phone call with Carla and the threat, which really scared me as a mum. Before if Georgie went somewhere with the nanny or anyone else no security was with her but just to be safe we hired someone. We were in the process of installing more security features on the house and updated all our codes just to be safe. I didn't want to scare Georgie more than she already was so we tried to be as desecrate as possible. Today though was filled with different events, 'Kate, can you take Georgie to her school function? Angelo has a doctor appointment at the same time and Simon is stuck at the office till at least half past seven.' I asked the new nanny. 'I would love too. I'll go get everything ready.' She replied and hurried off. While I was trying to get the baby's bag together Georgie came into the living room. 'Mum?' She asked sitting on the sofa next to me. 'Yes?' I answered turning my head to properly face her. 'Patrick is coming to my school with me, right?' I gave her a nod and then turned my attention back onto my precious task. 'He protects me, right?' She said as she asked another question. 'What's this about?' I asked turning my full  attention to her and putting the bag on the floor. 'Did something happen earlier at school?' I asked starting to get concerned. The school dismissed early to prepare for the function which didn't start until three. 'There was a man and he looked at me funny.' She said with a scared look on her face. Even though she was only seven, almost eight, she could tell when something wasn't right. 'I promise Patrick will protect you and Kate.' I reassured her. As soon as I heard her run upstairs shouting Kate's name I immediately dialed Simon's number. 'Hey, babe.' He answered. 'Simon, something is going on at Georgie's school.' I could tell by his breathing that he was tensing up. 'What do you mean?' He asked. 'She just came to ask if Patrick was going to protect her because a man at school this morning was looking at her funny.' I told him. 'You don't think Carla would actually do anything do you? I know we're taking precautions but she wouldn't actually go though with anything would she?' I asked suddenly starting to feel hesitant about letting Georgie leave. 'I would hope not but you never know.' He calmly said. 'I'm going to ring Patrick before he arrives and have him be on the look out for anything at the function and then I'll have him call a friend of his that's a police officer to see what he says.' I said to try and reassure him. 'Okay, I'll be home soon. I love you, Adele.'

I called Patrick and told him what was going on and he assured me that he would take care of it. Around a quarter till three he arrived to collect Georgie and Kate but I wanted so badly to keep them home where I knew they would be safe. 'Just say the word and I'll bring them straight back.' Patrick told me after I agreed to let Georgie go. 'I'll be right here when you get back my darling.' I told her as she was leaving. 'Bye mummy, I love you.' She said as she waved out of the car window. A sigh of relief escape my mouth and I carried on getting Angelo ready for his appointment. It was probably thirty minutes later  that I left the house and as I was leaving Kate called me hysterically screaming. I couldn't understand anything she was saying so I had the security that was with me call Simon and my mum and have one go to the school and the other come to the house to watch the baby. 'Kate, I need you to calm down.' I tried to tell her. 'He... shot... and ... I... her... I... I...' was all I could hear. 'Who is shot? Where's Georgie? Is Patrick with you?' I asked her but there was so much chaos that I didn't know what was happening. 'Your mum is around the corner and Simon is leaving the office now. 'The security reported back to me. 'I need you to take the baby inside and stay with him until my mum comes and then don't leave them alone. I'm going to get my daughter.' By now the adrenaline was rushing through my body and the only thing on my mind was Georgie.

Car after car dragged behind in my review mirror but I didn't care that I was going over every speed limit. Within five minutes I pulled up to the school which was now covered with police and people. I parked the car and got out to try and find anybody that could help me. 'Georgie? Georgie? Georgie Belle?' I yelled but no response only the loud echo of people trying to see what was going on. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted Kate and ran directly to her. She was wrapped in a blanket on the back of an ambulance and was uncontrollable. But I didn't see Georgie or Patrick. 'Adele. Adele.' I heard my name being called and turned around to see Simon racing towards me. 'Where is she? Where is my daughter?' He screamed. 'She has to be here. She has too.' I said repeatedly. I tried asking Kate what happened but she was in shock and the paramedics said they needed to take her in to get her checked. We started walking towards Patrick's car when we saw a body bag that was partially hidden by a row of officers. As we got closer we realized who it was by the size and I collapsed into Simon's arms.
