"____? ____! Come on wake up, I know you're there," Links voice penetrated your deep sleep. Your eyes shot open when you remembered and you scrambled to your feet in haste, "Whoa, whoa! ___, it's ok! It's me!"
You calmed down long enough to see the crumpled up form of the spider and the remnants of it's web stuck to you. Your head was pounding and your shoulder stung like fire from the bite. Gripping your forehead you clenched your teeth, "Ugh, Talo! They took Talo! He just ran off on me when he saw that monkey. I was so focused on getting him back I didn't even see the stupid monster!" You ran your hands through your hair in frustration.
"A little rusty, aren't we?" Link smiled, trying to lighten the mood though you didn't think of it at the time.
"I didn't exactly bring a plethora of weapons to defend myself!" You spat as calmly as you could.
Link placed a hand on your shoulder, "Hey, take it easy, I'm just teasing. We'll get him back," He gestured towards the forest, "Which way did they go?"
You caught your breath, calming down to point, "North... Towards the old temple."
"Alright, then. Let's go!" He tossed you your saber and jogged through the maze of giant redwoods.
At the moment you were really thankful for Link's positive outlook on things, but if Talo got hurt because you weren't paying attention, you'd never forgive yourself! Your old fighting skill soon returned as a few bokoblins got in your way. Both you and Link defeated them with ease, determined to rescue the little boy. Rounding a few bends, you were able to catch a glimpse of Talo sitting captive inside a makeshift prison. Only a few of the beasts were guarding them, and it didn't look like they had been hurt. An alien emotion began to boil and rise into your empty chest, a rage that fueled your response to sprint towards them with Link behind you. With fire in your eyes and teeth clenched in a snarl you drove your saber into the gut of the first monster, twisting it and tearing it back out. Letting him fall to the ground, you stepped over him to slice the throat of the next attacker, nearly decapitating him.
Link had taken out one, and immediately raced to Talo's side to try and free him. Turning on your heels, the rage grew as a heavy club made contact with your arm, knocking the sword from your grasp. With quicker reflexes then you knew you had, you grabbed his wrist and dislocated it with one jerk, throwing him to the side of the temple. Diving for your saber with a battle cry, you thrust it through his ribcage and felt the resistance from the bones and muscle. With a final tearing jerk and a gargling moan from the bokoblin, you removed the blade to let him fall at your feet. The burning rage you felt slowly started to simmer down, replacing it with confusion and a bit of worry. Only after the whole ordeal did you notice Link and Talo staring at you in dulled shock. Finally the sense started to return to your head as you looked down at yourself covered in sticky green blood. A wave of horrid guilt swamped you as Talo's large brown eyes stared at you fear, having to see you for who you really were. Whoever that was, inside you started to hate and fear it. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but you couldn't be certain. That rage was dying to show itself for days, growing silently in your gut and only now did you finally notice it.
Wiping your blade on the bits of grass, you sheathed it and tried to sound comforting, "Are you ok, Talo?"
Talo's grip on Link tightened as you walked closer, but managed a nod, "Yeah... I'm sorry I ran off on you." He apologized.
Kneeling next to him, you ruffled his hair, getting him to lighten up a bit, "It's alright. I'm just glad you're safe."
He sheepishly looked up, "If you hadn't come, Link... Gee, me and that monkey would've gotten eaten, probably!"
